[IRCA] 540 kHz in Saskatchewan

2013-10-06 Thread Neil Bell
After trying for this station in Watrous, Saskatchewan for a long time,
I finally got it Oct 5, 2013 at 0330 Pacific time (1030 UTC), after KVIP
in Northern California and the big Mexicans on 540 faded out. Distance
from my SF Bay area is 1240 miles. Rx was a Winradio Excalibur and 95
foot random wire. After a few years that was a nice catch. _ Neil Bell,

Congrats on the Saskatchewan logging. I remember when CBK (then) Regina was
mostly dominant on the frequency here in Southern CA. XEWA was a factor as
well, but back then few U.S. stations in the west were on 540 nights. ---Mike

Congrats of CBK. A strong signal here and generally heard day & night year
around. They must have a great tx site as CBK always has been strong on the
Northern Oregon coast.
