Rob, congrats on getting 2000 on MW! As you no doubt noticed in the latest loggings I posted to this listserver a few days ago, I'm pretty darn close to hitting a milestone myself from here in South Omaha. KUTR-820 Taylorsville, Utah was logging #999 for me last Friday morning, and I'm hoping #1000 will be someone that I thought I might've had in the past but couldn't confirm, like KSJB-600 in North Dakota, or one of two Mexicans on 630 that begin with the letters "XEJ". But I will take it however it comes. For perspective, I logged 1430 overall (1375 from the U.S. and Canada) from Iowa City, Iowa beginning in October 1985 before finally retiring that logbook for good with my last loggings in September 2013. Topping that might be tough from here, but I'll certainly give it a try. 73, Rick Dau South Omaha, Nebraska EN21af MW: Sony ICF-2010, Gruding AN-200 loop ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com

Rob, Congratulations on AM Station # 2,000-- and for your awesome commitment to keep chasing MW-DX over the past 9 years! I'm happy to recall that quite a few of those stations were received for the first time on Ultralight radios-- in our early days when you, Richard, Allen and many others showed the MW-DXing community what could be accomplished by skilled, determined DXers using basic pocket radios. You were also a pioneer in the Ultralight Longwave DXing niche group-- the "frozen fingered fraternity" chasing NDB's out in the winter cold on icy back yard decks. You've accomplished practically every goal possible in pocket radio DXing-- except maybe pushing your luck chasing 1 kW Kiwi stations on an Oregon cliff during a summer rainstorm? I'll save a spot at Rockwork 4 for you! 73, Gary DeBock (in Puyallup, WA, USA) - Original Message - From: "Robert Ross" To: "IRCA AM List" Sent: Thursday, February 9, 2017 6:27:52 AM Subject: [IRCA] AM BCB DX…..Station # 2,000 Logged Hi Guys: Finally heard AM Station # 2,000 and it was a Mexican! Kudos Rob ! I have about 2100 from here over about 27 years; combined with my NJ totals and de-duped, I have close to 2800. As Jim says, time at the dials is key, and due to noise, proximity of high power locals and the inability to get a good antenna going, my DX time on AM is small and my totals growth is almost nonexistent. Given where you are, the time you spend and what you're hearing on a regular basis, 2500 should be very possible.
