Given recent conditions, this morning's traces of Japanese audio here
and there was quite welcome.
594 JOAK Tokyo, JAPAN Was best at 1359 with traces of talk,
then time pips at 1400.
693 JOAB Tokyo, JAPAN Time pips at 1400, but that was it for audio.
747 JOIB Sapporo, JAPAN Talk by woman at 1458.
774 JOUB Akita, JAPAN Talk by woman at 1458, //747.
828 JOBB Osaka, JAPAN This one was also audible at 1400 and
1500, but was best at 1300 with man and woman talking prior to time pips
at the hour.
1386 NHK2 synchros, JAPAN Time pips heard at 1500, but that was it.
There seemed to bit a bit of lift near sunrise, but only to the extend
it strengthened the carriers (which were actually quite numerous) for
frequencies higher than about 1100 khz. Lower down, the Japanese big
guns seemed be quite steady, fluctuating around the "barely there" audio
level from about 1200 to 1500.
