It is difficult to believe it has been ten years since I last talked to John.
He was a mentor, introducing me to the joy and economy of ultralight DX-ing.
I last met him at his home a few days before his passing. He and Linda were
preparing for a move to Orcas Island. I remember him telling me he was leaving
Stillwater never to return. But fate dealt him a different end.

You are missed John.

Richard Allen,
near Perry OK USA.

2019-02-09 Thread Carl DeWhitt
I met John once near my home town of Ponca City,Oklahoma.I talked to him
via phone and email a number of times afterward.I cannot say I knew John
well but from his writing,it felt like I did.He really put himself into His
writing and his enthusiasm for the hobby was perhaps exceeded by none.I had
moved here to TN when I heard the unfortunate news above his tragic
death.He is missed.RIP,John. Carl DeWhitt,KI5SF.
