[IRCA] KNX IBOC?
When I heard KNX last year, their TOH ID and time check were more than 10 seconds late, due to the delays associated with transmitting IBOC. I just heard them this evening, at 2000 EST, and there was no delay at all. Either they've turned off IBOC, or they're running their analog and digital signals out of sync. Or, assuming all their programming is produced locally, I suppose they could set their studio clocks ahead and compensate for the delay that way. Which is actually the case? Chris, It sounds like you get KNX pretty strong! Here LA is "ok" but nothing more in signal. Paul, They mostly have financial talk programs. When they forget to power down (switch transmitter sites) then KNX IBOC isn't much of a problem. Patrick, KNX has a strong signal into this area at night and their IBOC gives 1060/1080 problems on peaks. Chris, Here the KRKO 1380 Everett WA IBOC gets into local KAST after dark. [IRCA] KNX IBOC still off
Somebody somewhere mentioned that KNX's IBOC is off. I'm pleased to report that it's still off 24/7. Maybe we'll get lucky and they won't turn it on again. There was a recent change in management (empty suit type; not engineering) there.
