[IRCA] KOA-850
For those who may be interested, I am hearing KOA-850 in Denver. What I was surprised about is that they are now carring Coast To Coast AM. Have no idea how long KOA has been doing this. New for me. KOA is weak but readble here in Polk county TN. They are under the 850 station in Birmingham, AL. KOA-850 is into southeastern Tennessee like it was a local. If you need Colorado this is the time to hear it. Program detail: Call in talk show topic is about AIDS, homosexuals and oral sex, with all the details, as taught to our children in our schools! Who knows why KOA's IBOC is off best to call the station if you really want to know why it's off. Good or bad, take it or leave it. I dont care either way about IBOC. Re: [IRCA] KOA-850 IBOC
Chris- Out here in Tennessee we don't hear the IBOC from KOA. Which is good! I get enough of it from those stations in the south. Let's hopr it stays off. Also have noticed that many of the stations here in the south, do not run their IBOC all the time. Perhaps they will/ are getting the message it is a waste of time. 850 KOA CO DENVER 0130 - 0206 04/10/08 While tuning across the dial I heard an ad for Rock Mountain Harley - Davidson. (I knew this would be KOA, so I stayed tuned. This was followed by an ad for the downtown Marriote Hotel. KOA was putting a good solid S-5 signal. But no ID heard at this time. So I continued to monitor 850. There was QRM from WPTB in Statesbore, GA with ESPN radio. KOA was gone, and no ID. Returned to 850 at 0158. There was mention of several Denver business, then into the news. Finally at 0206 I heard the ID. Coming out of Denver weather, a quick ID, Radio 850, KOA Then QSB back under WPTB. {WM-TN] This is the first time this DX season I have heard KOA. 36 degrees is cold as compared to here in Tennessee. It's 70 degrees outside. // Supposed to get down to an overnight low of 45 here in Denver Willis. The high today was only 54 because of a cold front that moved through. And there has been a slight mist in the air all day and into the evening. Mike,It sould not be difficult to get a signal that's next door to a 50 KW station at a distance of 40 miles since the closer one is not strong enough to cover up the next freq up or down,I'm about 40 miles south of Vancouver and can easily get by all the big guys there,i.e.690,730.980,1130, the omni's, and 1040,1320,1410,1470 don't bother me since they push east and west.---Bill in Victoria __ Do You Yahoo!?
