Art,

You should have tried for KKGR. I'm closer to KNBR than you are and KKGR got
through at least three times while I was on the frequency.

As Russ had mentioned, I sent out my first catch of KANA at about 0203 to
"basically" notify the list that "something" was happening. And oddly enough
that was the only time I heard that station. Anyways, it showed up on the
list (at least here, a minute later). The rest were delayed by an hour or
two.

I tried to log into #mwdx early on, but really wasn't concentrating enough
on how to enter the list and failed to do so. Will have to look over the
instructions again.

I saw several posts on the tests between 0200 and 0300 EST from various
folks in the West - I reported some of them on #mwdx.

So it appears this is highly variable.

2006-11-19 Thread Bill Block
These Montana tests were great fun with these heard:

580KANA heard with sweep tones. New.

680KKGR heard with sweep tones and fast CW. New.

750KERR heard with CW music and ID's. New.

1290 KGVO heard at 0306 with ID and than into Coast to Coast. Not new and
sounds like they
on RS. This one is heard at times around sunrise.

KGVO and KEIN were not heard. Thanks to all for these tests!

Speaking of mail delays- I heard nothing from anyone on any list as to
whether the test had begun OR if anyone was hearing anything. At 0400 I
turned it all of and went to bed. Seems this morning is when the IRCA server
decided to be slow.

At 1100, I now have some 250 post to go through, and from scanning over the
list comments, it seems (once again) that no one here in the south heard the
test. I did hear what sounded like a sweep tone on 1310 at 0205, however, it
is only a guess. It wasn't anything to get excited about.

1310
With WDOD-1310 in Chattanooga choosing this morning not to go to their night
time pattern, it was impossible to be sure of anything.

1290
Any test on this frequency was impossible to hear with WHKY, Hickory, NC.

930
Nothing.

680
WPTF doing their usual good job of hogging the frequency.

750
WSB Atlanta a nice S9+30db.

580
WDBO Orlando, FL blocking any chance for the test. So the southern boys get
left out once again!

And to top it all off, the Loenoids meter shower was a bust! Not one meteor
seen.
Such is life.

KKGR 680 - Yes. Sweep tones 1201 Weak. Blasted by KNBR. NEW

KERR 750 - Yes. Old C&W 1213 very weak under KOAL and Art Bell. NEW

KLCY 930 - No. Only KSEI.

At this point (0220 EST) I have no sign of any of the tests. This is
not exactly a surprise because all of these except 750 are on crowded
channels here, and because of low-angle blockage due to the basement
location of the shack and the loop.

May have to sit on 750 for a while hoping for a WSB fade...
