Re: [IRCA] NE Oregon TPs, Sunday (addendum)
Steve, I believe the FCC shut down the Vancouver/Portland Russian station this past summer. I have not heard the Seattle Russian station in a very long time. There was another similar sounding station much weaker underneath, maybe the Portland/Vancouver one, if it's still on. This morning was much poorer, however 162 did eventually barely reach threshold audio--though a far cry from yesterday's relatively decent reception. 1437 utc had first traces of audio; peaking at 1445 just barely above threshold audio where the difference between male and female speech was noted; last traces at 1510. If I hadn't been monitoring it it would have been easy to miss. TP LWBC Radio Rossii also poor this morning. Last night produced a little TA LWBC, 162, 171, 198, 216, 225, with 162 and 225 reaching poor levels around 0440 utc. I don't usually get that good audio on the upper channels, so 225 was doing unusually well. Later, TP LWBC Radio Rossii was doing very well, hitting S7 at 0730 utc on 153 and S3 on 180. 73, Steve NE Oregon R75, longwires ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com

Hi Dennis, Coincidentally I was checking for the Seattle Russian station most days and evenings last week, and I heard nothing at all on the frequency. Is anyone else closer to the transmitter north of Seattle hearing them? Guy - I travel to Everett at least once a month and the last time was Nov. 26th. I hear the Russian station each time and it was stronger than ever on the 26th. On the return trip, it could be heard all the way to North Seattle which is a first for me. Re: [IRCA] NE Oregon TPs, Sunday (addendum)
Guy, Unless there is another somewhere else NE of me in Washington state, I heard the Russian 1710 Friday or Saturday late afternoon, with the usual format. So it is still there, or at least one in some area. Only heard off the NE EWE. Infact a minute ago I tried and heard a woman in Russian and going into Russian music. Weak but audible right now off the NE EWE. 73, Patrick Patrick Martin Seaside OR KGED QSL Manager ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com
