[IRCA] New one

2018-09-14 Thread Kraig
Heard male with  "hometown radio 94 5 FM 13-40 AM WCRV? We built the
team." on AM 1340 6 ET on September 9, 2018. Maybe WGRV? Checked the
WGRV website and I'm not seeing a reference to 94.5 FM or "The Team".
Also checked WTRC info. Don't see 94.5 FM.

Anyone know whom on the east coast or midwest has this slogan?

Thanks.

[IRCA] New one on 860

2015-12-07 Thread Nigel Pimblett
Like Dennis, I had a pleasant surprise tonight, in my case hearing WMRI
on 860 at 0500 UTC ( EST). Normally from the east I hear French and
not much else, so I perked up when I noticed ESPN. That's my second new
IN station in a week, as I logged 960 WSBT a few days ago.Quite
amazing considering previously I only had 7 all time.

NEW! KZQZ-AM 1430 Saint Louis, MO into NW Pennsylvania at 810pm Eastern on

[IRCA] New one for me WMOB

2013-01-02 Thread Hawkins

Gang,

Tuning across the band this morning, and came across WMOB in Mobile
Alabama loud and clear. So strong I am amazed that I have not heard
them before.

Bought one of these the other day.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Realtek-RTL2832U-Elonics-E4000-Based-USB-DVB-T-Receiver-Ships-From-USA-FAST-/150966709398?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2326512c96

They were designed to receive European TV but it was discovered that a
SDR lay hidden in the code. Got it up and running under Linux using
gnuradio. Tunes 52Mhz to 2.2Ghz, with a gap in the middle from 1112mhz
to 1246mhz Not bad for about $20.

[IRCA] NEW ONE! 1530 WLCO LaPeer, MI

2017-09-01 Thread Paul B. Walker, Jr.
At times, barrel rolling in over WCKY 1530 Cincinatti..

WLCO would come up real strong, more enough for this country radio DJ to
easily identify the songs theyre playing, then disappear into the mush and
have WCKY take over. They kept trading off places.. but guess what?

Murphy's law didn't take effect. .and I got a very nice, clear ID at Top of
hour!!

7pm Eastern legal id from WLCO as heard here:

http://www.onairdj.com/WLPO1530_LaPeerMI_7PmEastern_09012017.mp3

Here they are with a station liner at 6:56pm Eastern going into Eddie

Aren't there muggers wandering the streets, looking for easy prey? You've got
your headphones on and wouldn't hear them coming at you from behind. You were
probably safer up in Alaska with just a few hungry polar bears...

Re: [IRCA] NEW ONE: KZQZ-AM 1420

2017-09-27 Thread Rick Dau
In Warren, Pennsylvania, population 9,710??? I seriously doubt there's much
of a problem with muggings where he's at. And Paul has the right idea -- DX
outdoors and away from buzz problems and power lines (most city parks with
wooden tables are great places, I've found) until the cold starts to become too
unbearable. For me, that's usually sometime in mid-November.

Aren't there muggers wandering the streets, looking for easy prey? You've got
your headphones on and wouldn't hear them coming at you from behind. You were
probably safer up in Alaska with just a few hungry polar bears...

2017-09-27 Thread Saul Chernos
Aw, yeah, I know there's no risk of muggings in Warren Pa. Heck, I spent a week
there one day.

There's also no real risk of polar bears in the areas where I think Paul was in
Alaska.

[IRCA] New one to close out 2010

2011-01-04 Thread HASCALL, DAVID CIV DFAS
I closed out 2010 with a new one to the overall and ULR only logbook! I
do not do target lists, which I should do but I have always been after
WAPI 1070-AL. Got them on New Years Eve with Auburn basketball. It was
// to WIXI 1360 (first heard back in October and now hear them often at
SR and SS). I heard them through local 50Kw/10Kw DA-N WFNI. I was able
to null the local enough for armchair copy.

I still have many frequencies in the ULR book that have but one or two
but I added 43 to the ULR book and 20 to the overall book. That overall
book is only US and Canadian stations. ULR totals are at 248 and
"overall" book at 816.

1070 WAPI AL Birmingham 12-31 1731 G in local WFNI null w/Auburn
Basketball and ID during break. // to WIXI 1360. New! DH-IN
