They moved the COL from Gastonia to Pineville in 2005, per Wikipedia. My old 1990 NRC logbook still has the old WLTC calls, Gastonia COL and 5 Kw day power. BARRY: Your site still shows Gastonia as the COL. BTW Joe and Rob: I have WGIV in my ULR logbook, too. :) 73, Dave in Indy -- Message: 9 Date: Mon, 26 Oct 2009 21:00:20 -0500 From: Paul B. [IRCA] New logging on 1370
On the way home from work tonight, I heard a very different station on 1370. Sounded like several mentions of urban talk including sports, news, and some religion, and a station ID that was a little difficult to copy but sounded like WDIC. Then they ran an ad for a concert at the Bojangles Coliseum. Did my web search, and discovered said building is in Charlotte North Carolina. Thus I was able to pinpoint the following: WGIV, 1370, Pineville, NC, 26 Oct 2009, 2300 (UTC or 7:00 pm local), with a fair but copyable signal and no sign of WSPD or WXXI. Quite sure this new. Logbooks are on the other computer. P.S. Rob, do you have this in your ULR log??? 73 de Joe, KJ8O, Troy, MI ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com

First, I tried again to pull in WXXI, and at 6:29 pm local time (Wednesday Oct. 21) I heard news that had that NPR feel to it, with thanks to several sponsors, the name Renee Montagne (spelling???), and finally the WXXI station ID right at 6:30. Not new, but infrequent, and first time at sunset. This morning at 8:00 am, while the car radio was still on the same frequency, I heard some talk radio, and at TOH was station ID WGOH. Turns out, they are a 5KW daytime station in Grayson KY, with a bearing of 176.9° and distance of 300 miles (approx). I'll have to check my logbook, but I'm quite sure this is new. Lastly, someone is running a mystery station, as I have heard some popular music, so I'll go back again tonight, and try again. 73 de Joe, KJ8O, Troy, Michigan ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com

Heard tonight... KDTH, 1370, Dubuque IA. 12/18/08 11:45 PM EDT (10:45 their local time). Nostalgic music, local ads several mentions of Dubuque, then station ID. #412, IA#9, 1370#5.
