[IRCA] Radio Rebelde

2009-11-10 Thread Charles & Leonor Taylor

Fellow DXers,

I am hearing a Radio Rebelde outlet on 530.
When I attempted to hear Radio Visión Cristiana
on 530, instead I hear a Radio Rebelde instead.

Whether it is real station, I know not. I only
hear when it I null out Radio Encliclopedia-
Beútal, CH.

I hear a Radio Encliclopedia emission on
1710 almost every night.

Does anybody know about Radio Rebelde-
530.

Charles (WD4INP)

Charles,

Now, I don't know much about radio down in the neck of the woods where Cuba
is, but i thought I recall Cuba having an outlet on 530khz somewhere.

Here's Radio Rebelde's website:
http://www.radiorebelde.cu/english/history.htm

Scroll to the bottom and you'll see this:

*AMPLITUD MODULADA (AM) : 670 Y 710 Kc
ONDA CORTA : Banda 31 m 9 600 Khz
Banda 49 m 6 140 Khz
FRECUENCIA MODULADA (FM) : 97,6 Mhz*

And what you see is totally unreliable, like most Cuban radio websites. Rebelde
has not used those SW frequencies for years, but have been on 5025, which they
really ought to mention. And of course they also have MANY other MW
frequencies, with or without 530. 73, Glenn Hauser

Re: [IRCA] Radio Rebelde

2009-11-10 Thread Russ Edmunds
Pretty much all published info on Cuban stations is unreliable.

That said, both Rebelde and Enciclopedia have been reported by DX'ers on 530.
Therefore, I would conclude that it is a 'real station', whatever that may mean
in the context of Cuba.

It should also be noted that as most of the Cuban networks do not provide full
24/7 programming, it is not uncommon for the same station to broadcast
programming from one network by day/eveniong and another overnight. But of
course since we can't reasonably know how many transmitters are on which
frequencies, this item is shared more by way of a 'be careful what conclusions
you jump to' than anything else.

[IRCA] Radio Rebelde Santa Clara - 670: POWER PLEASE!

A-HA! So there is a Santa Clara Rebelde 670 outlet.

WHAT IS THE ESTIMATED POWER FOR THE SANTA CLARA-670 TRANSMITTER?

Something in Ciudad La Habana Province has to come up the Florida mainland and
all the way across Georgia, South Carolina and half of North Carolina before
it tickles my 'tenna.

Something from Santa Clara Province transverses the Atlantic until landfall
around Wilmington (NC).

BIG difference between the two paths!

There you go, making up your own Spanish terms! Baggito looks like Italian.

If you try, "bajo" and then drive "bajitos," that evokes a picture of Don
Fido Firuláiz Castro Ruíz BowWow II as having no undershorts.

I like that.

Now PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESTION, SIR!
