[IRCA] TAs in NW Washington - as if...
Hi all: Hardly even a weak het tonight from across the Atlantic - must be a lot of snow up north blocking the signals? Somebody call Santa - he's not doing anything this time of year! Domestic reception is quite good, though. All of the big Chicago stations are in very strong, and KMOX-1120 with the indoor Super Loop is all alone over 50 kw KPNW only 250 miles away, so the nulls are particularly good tonight. In fact, KMOX is so strong that its IBOC is creating havoc for 1110-KFAB, also tromping a strong semi-local on 1110 to the south. Re: [IRCA] TAs in NW Washington - a little action
A very similar story on the east side of Puget Sound - audio at times on 1134, carriers on 693 909 1215 1269, all of them (dare I say) routine TA's. Presumed BBC on 693 and 909 have decent signals but no recognizable audio, and 675, 1134 and 1215 are threatening to be decent at times. Re: [IRCA] TAs in NW Washington - a little action
Fliipped on the radio after getting back from Calgary this evening, and indeed, some TA action. A quick scan showed audio from the following: 639 Spain 684 Spain 693 UK 711 France 765 Switxerland 819 Egypt 855 Spain 873 ? 963 Finland 1089 UK 1134 Croatia 1206 France 1215 UK 1224 Spain (?) 1269 Germany 1377 France 1422 Germany Most years, this would rate as a great night. This year, just pretty good. 73, Nigel Pimblett Dunmore, Alberta sa...@sounddsl.com wrote: Hi all: Hets seem to be popping up here and there, and I managed to synch France Info in Bordeaux on 1206 to their web stream for a new logging, my ears tempting fate with the AGC off under a strong local on 1210. Re: [IRCA] TAs in NW Washington
Thanks Bruce. At 0420 now, the TA band seems to be played out. I never quite got anyting out of 1215, although I could probably slew the loop over and get a good null on our local on 1210. Ah well, only a couple hours until the TPs start... in fact, 747 and 774 were better at bedtime last night than they were ths morning. Kevin > Kevin > > Welcome to the world of TA DX. Kevin Welcome to the world of TA DX. Things are down a bit tonight, with just 1134 & 1215 so far on this side of the Sound. I've been chasing that 783 station since early October, but it's never had more then trace audio. It hadn't occurred to me that it might be Syria. Unfortunately it's not there now.
