[IRCA] TAs tonight on the west coast: a few, but not like last night!

2009-10-15 Thread Walter Salmaniw
Turned on the radio to check for a repeat of last night, and it doesn't look
like that's going to happen. Notice the rise in A/K indices (4/1 the last I
checked). Weak audio on 1377 and 1215, and not much else yetWalt

2009-10-15 Thread D1028Gary
Walt and Others,

Thanks for your detailed TA reports last night, keeping us fully alerted as
 to the European signal strengths.

I was able to catch the tail end of the action, making a strong MP3 of
1134-Croatia at 0353 on the new PL-310 ultralight (assisted by a 6' PVC box
loop in the back yard). This was the first west coast TA received on this new
DSP pocket radio, which used its 1 kHz DSP filtering to keep the 1130-CKWX
splatter in check.

Congratulations also on receiving 1215-Absolute Radio on your E100 Slider,
Walt. Absolute is absolutely tough to get here, due to a local 1210 Spanish
 pest.

73, Gary

2009-10-15 Thread Nigel Pimblett
Yes indeed, nothing like last night. But, having said that, stations
are popping up to audio now and again, but generally for only brief
spells..The middle portion of the band seems favoured here. I've
had audio on 963, 972, 1089 (Russia), 1125 (a bit odd, as I didn't have
audio there yesterday).1134, and 1215. Did have Farda earlier, but
it's long gone now.
