I heard a few West Coast stations from the southwest coast of Maui (Kihei). The strongest were KTCT, KEIB and KTNQ (the latter two are 50 kW diplexed). Quite a few DU were heard on a rental car radio with dreadful selectively. 738 Tahiti was a regular on an average radio inside the condo across the street from the beach. What's interesting about this visit (from Kona) is the complete lack of West Coast stations-- not sure if the doldrums effect the E-W path to WCNA. This AM was the epitome of blah -- with a couple of huge standouts that defied explanation. All Chinese. At this hour, audio on 540, 621, 1098 - assuming all Island stations. Even more lackluster.
