As Gary, Dennis and Bill all noted, it was the morning of 1575. However, I can't say my reception of VoA was quite in the barn burning category that Gary and Dennis described. It was good at times, but not as good or consistent as a couple of days ago.It was however the only DX to speak of when I listened around 1345 and 1415UT, and kept my ears and eyes open the rest of the time. pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly): 1575 VoA man in SE Asian language 1353UT, still fading up to reasonable levels at 1423UT reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise): nope not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker: nada Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) : 738 woman talking, FF inflection? 1348UT 1503 man talking 1351UT Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter): 558 567 594 774 1323 1557 best wishes, Nick ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com

Heh, mine wasn't quite at that level Gary. Have you ever thought of connecting your ultralight up to an ultraheavy sound system, big speakers etc.?
