Lots of splash, lots of carriers, a number of those with whispers of audio. There were lots of rapid fades, so likely missed some peaks. NHK2 off at 1500UT again, though a number of carriers left on. Several Japanese commercial stations made an appearance, with 1422 leading the pack, but struggling with the aforementioned splash just the same. pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly): 972 HLCA woman in Korean fading up rapidly after weak pips on the hour. Colin reported some of the "big stuff" at sunrise, but there were one or two other things heard here. Interestingly, 1400-1500UT has generally been pretty poor, but this morning, at least the big guns were doing pretty well then, and a couple of Koreans made an appearance. pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly): 747 JOIB, the big NHK2 one today, maxing out with the music box at 1541UT, but had been pretty good earlier as well. Sort of a bit like others heard this morning, but I didn't get much of a low band lift today. 774 was often in with audio from 1300UT onwards, but it wasn't as good at sunrise as it had been previously. I was also limited to the north Flag today, as the west one was down to get it out of the way of tree pruners, and usually the west Flag is best for low band Asiatic signals, even during enhancement. pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly): 774 JOUB CC lessons 1347UT 1566 HLAZ man in CC 1524UT Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise): 1422 JORF assumed w/woman in JJ 1521UT, best this has been heard here in a long time. not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker: 594 JOAK man in JJ 1301UT 1386 NHK2 man in JJ 1523UT, big carrier 1503 JOUK brief moment of jazz guitar at this strength 1523UT, //1584sort of had to be reaching for NHK1 parallels this morning 1557 likely Taiwan woman in CC 1535UT Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) : 828 JOBB opening bars of anthem 1540UT 972 HLCA? man talking, might have been KK 1401UT 1314 sounded like preaching 1527UT, DWXI likely? 1539 NHK2 man talking //1386 1523UT 1584 NHK1 jazz guitar //1503 various times 1523-1526UT 1593 CNR1? man talking, sounded like CC 1531UT Strongish het, no or near imaginaryaudio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter): ...738 837 864 873 891 1008 1206 1242 1269 1287 1458 1467 1485 best wishes, Nick ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com

I might have missed the best of the enhancement this morning, as didn't get to the radio until after 1530UT to snag HLAZ fading away with a lady in CC. Earlier tomorrow, but not too much earlier, as my check at 1500UT showed minimal signals, and the overnight recorder showed no reason to get out of bed. best wishes, Nick ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com
