A very dull morning, hints of DU in the lower band, hints of Asia in the upper
band. Major hints of rolling over and going back to sleep.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):

not today

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a
native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

I think not

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could
be understood by a native speaker:

1566 HLAZ brief peak, man in Japanese, musical interlude 1332UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by
cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

531 very faint slow guitar music with vocal 1256UT; man DU English intonation
1259UT, nothing across hour

567 woman talking, DU English intonation 1318UT

594 man talking DU English perhaps 1306UT

612 woman talking DU English intonation 1309UT

693 JOAB likely, sounded like practice for Chinese vowels 1323UT

828 pop music not //612, and unlikely to be JOBB with it Chinese lessons 1326UT

1251 CNR1? not much beyond carrier here, but definite Chinese pips 1300UT,
though very weak

1323 woman talking 1323; too much splash to guess language, but CRI tends to
be it

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged
by splatter)

 594 603 747 774 828 945 972 1134 1179 1188 1206 1242 1386 1422 1575
1593   1494   seemed to be Asian;
702 756 774 846 891 909 1017 seemed to be DU

best wishes,

Nick

Definitely a bit more action today,

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):

1566 HLAZ choir singing, then man leading prayers 1332UT; best on North Flag

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

738 Tahiti vocal pop music en francais 1313-16UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:

1287 JOHR? two women talking, Japanese inflection, then into pop
music and it faded up to this level 1154UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music)

594 JOAK? woman talking 1323UT; weak considering carrier strength
747 woman and man talking, Japanese inflection 1226UT
1053 Korean jammer 1243UT
1206 Yanbian judging by the off channel carrier; woman talking, very
bassy so not much readability. The only other overseas audio on the
band at this time was on 738, so Yanbian would be an odd visitor.

1377 vocal music and man talking, best on north Flag 1327UT.

Strongish het, no or near imaginary audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter)

best wishes,

Nick

Actually a fairly lively morning right from 1130UT, though nothing
too astonishing that was identifiable. A couple of tentative DUs
turned up, and a mystery carrier on 908.984 kHz, quite strong at
times, no audio, fading up and down, but still there at 1400UT, and a
few seconds later disappeared.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):

Not quite, though HLAZ and HLCA came close

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

774 JOUB EE lessons 1322UT
972 HLCA man and woman in KK 1246UT
1566 HLAZ man in JJ 1245UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:

828 JOBB man in JJ 1242UT
891 JOHK. Man in JJ, quite insistent, //594 which was weaker, 1323UT.

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music) :

576 unID. Slow contemplative instrumental mx 1316UT
594 unID. Rollicking vocal mx and woman talking, but maybe DU EE?
1231UT; JOAK heard later //891
702 2BL? Two men talking, one quite laid back, DU EE inflection,
other more insistent

747 JOIB? Woman w/JJ inflection after mx, 1130UT
954 JOKR? Man talking JJ inflection
1053 KK jammer 1232UT
1287 JOHR? Lively vocal mx, rather countryish, 1223UT...

Strongish het, no or near imaginaryaudio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter):

Still mostly Asiatic, Japanese mostly, though a couple of DUs
observed, earlier rather than later. Tuned in at 1319UT (though was
recording from 1300UT), and moments later 774 delivered a nice JOUB
NHK...dai-ni hoso ID by a man at good level. Nothing earth
shattering heard (hmm, 1188 isn't common I guess), though an
intriguing jammer (I think) on 1323kHz at around 1320UT, and some
reasonable signal strengths at times.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):

774 JOUB at various times in addition to the ID noted above
1566 HLAZ woman in JJ 1340UT, FEBC mention

reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a
native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

594 JOAK man in JJ 1323UT and 1338UT among others
828 JOBB EE lessons 1321UT
972 HLCA man and man in KK 1321UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be

understood by a native speaker:

702 2BL. Forced hilarity, and a couple of EE words made me think NHK2
EE lessons, but not //. Listened to recording, and ABC mention at
1300UT, with six pips and nx fanfare.
891 JOHK man in JJ //594 1323UT, 1344UT alsopretty much last man
standing at this time

1053 KK jammer 1324
1287 JOHR man in JJ 1322, 1331 UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by
cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :

576 2RN man talking slowly //846 1313UT
738 Tahiti, man and woman talking, FF inflection 1324UT
747 JOIB man and woman talking //774
846 2RN man talking slowly //576 at 1313UT
873 JOGB weather reports //774 1310UT
954 JOKR? man talking JJ inflection 1345UT
1188 JOKP woman in JJ //594 at 1335UT; nice surprise
1242 JOLF? woman talking JJ inflection, 1322UT
1323 unID weak talk, still a slightly FF flavor 1319UT; interesting
was the burbling noise that faded up and obliterated it, then faded
down again after 1321UT. If local interference, was specific to this
channel, and with the fade, I'm guessing a jammer?

Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):

567 612 909 1269 1314 1422 1476

best wishes,

Nick
