Gee, I must have been DXing from another planet this morning (some will say
that happens every morning, and not just DXing). It was pretty darn good
here, but the high points were hearing several KBS stations, NHK1 on 603 and
the NHK2 pipsqueaks on 1512. Yes there was China there, but not outstandingly
so....and 594 had some QRM, but nothing like yesterday. Most intriguing.

Listened from 1355 for about one hour. but also did a quick check at 0945UT
when it was also pretty lively, with JOIB-747 the strongest of all, and the
1053 jammer being the strongest I've heard this season.

pretty darn good audio (at least briefly, though mostly pretty steady):

279 R. Rosii
594 JOAK
747 JOIB
774 JOUB
828 JOBB
972 HLCA always with big carrier, but not strong audio until later
1053 S. Korean jammer
1566 HLAZ after 1430UT
1575 VoA

(so, pretty much the "regulars", with only 1053 being out of the ordinary)

reasonable audio at times during the period (though often battling w/splash
or noise):

189 R. Rossii
531 JOQG //594, pretty consistent
567 JOIK //594 at 1406
603 two stations at least, later. Dug out NHK1 parallel at 1436
639 CNR-1
711 HLKA ID at 1400UT
738 at 1410 w/light mx, not //1143, probably KBS which was logged later //711
1053 woman talking o/jammer, but sounded more like Tagalog than JJ???
1134 Korea //972
1143 CC talk, but still not //738 at 1417
1170 likely KK (not CC) talk, so KBS.
1242 pop mx, most likely JOLF
1305 HLSV //711 at 1425

not so reasonable audio, occasional words in splash or noise:

153 R. Rossii
558 the usual 2 stations, JJ seemed dominant
585 JOPG //594
612 JOLK //594 at 1430; hum there also
675 Vietnam //5975
702 NHK2 o/hum on channel at 1421
864 music not //1287; consistently good carrier
873 JOGB //774
945 CNR1
954 JOKR
963 a mess
1215 seemed to be CNR2 //6155
1314 usual hum w/apparent JOUF mixed in 1434UT
1422 JORF w/JJ talk at 1433, but another station faded in w/singing; no idea who
1512 after hearing what sounded like CC followed by Tagalog, actually noted
//774 w/CC lessons, so NHK2, though the channel was so unstable, it could have
been China and Philippines before this.

Burbles in the splatter and noise:

549
576, big carrier
621 CC?
1098 Asian, best on north Flag; no clue
1161 possibly Taiwan, also noted clucking type noise often noted on 774; is
this a jammer?
1179 mx u/IBOC
1188 at least two stations
1332
1494 pop mx at 1441
1575 CC pips at 1500 in middle of deep VoA fade

Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):

A surprising number of these the last few mornings, though eventually some
deliver audio. Almost like the splatter is stronger....

best wishes,

Nick
