Re: [IRCA] The "Volleyball Net" Loop Antenna

2017-07-24 Thread Paul B. Walker, Jr.
I wanted something cheap, easy and light weight.. the heavier the wire is,
the more it sags over longER distances.. and this single solid conductor
thin gauge is the perfect size for threading through the hole in the
ALA100LN.

I have Colin Newell to thank for helping and encouraging me over time to
get this project done.

Paul, all good, but I'd suggest stranded wire over a solid conductor, which
is much more prone to fatigue and breaks...Walt

[IRCA] The "Volleyball Net" Loop Antenna

2017-07-24 Thread Paul B. Walker, Jr.
I used the Wellbrook ALA100LN amplifier head, 22 gauge single conductor
electrical wire, 2 speaker stands, two 5 foot sections of PVC Pipe and a
desktop mic stand.

To get a quick look at my set up, click this youtube link and fast forward

The antenna is about 25 feet long by about 10 feet tall. The bottom part
does touch the ground in places.
