Re: [IRCA] Trans-World Radio on 800Kc
Willis, TWR 800khz is currently NOT in my log for Central Alabama. I did hear them on a number of occasions on business trips to Florida. If you hear them coming in well at your location, please do alert me. This is the kind of thing that I wish more folks would post on the NRC "DX Tips" service. I got your e-mail but not until nearly 1AM...just not near the computer. The DX Tips list has the advantage of going to my cell phone. Thanks for keeping all of us in the loop. 73, Les Rayburn, director High Noon Film 100 Centerview Drive Suite 111 Birmingham, AL 35216 205.824.8930 205.824.8960 fax 205.253.4867 cell -- From: "k4ape" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Saturday, December 15, 2007 3:07 AM To: "Mailing list for the International Radio Club of America" Subject: Re: [IRCA] Trans-World Radio on 800Kc > Thanks Gil. Bonaire, Netherland Antilles 2000 to 2030 14/12/07 Preaching in Spanish from 2000 to 2030. / The SS broadcast you heard is apparently directional and aimed north to serve Cuba and the Carribean. The last time I checked their schedule it said they were non-directional with 100 kw in EE both before and after the SS broadcast. I'm surprised they aren't reported more often. Thanks Gil. I try and be a help to those who want help, and don't help anyone who doesn't want it! I have two QSL cards from 1963, for reception of TWR. I was in Texas at the time. In 1967 and 68, I was down in that part of the world and listen to them nightly, with a protable radio while I sat on the bow of the ship I was on. 73's Willis Old Fort, TN > 800 Bonaire has been a regular for me on the xtl radio over the years. > Listening to it now on the SRF59.
