Re: [IRCA] WBOB Question
Russ, Early in the testing period it sounded like the test programming was covered by a strong OC. The Batchelor show would come back in place of the OC. I thought maybe WBOB had 2 transmitters on at the same time. Re: [IRCA] WBOB Question
That's a possibility I hadn't considered, but given what I heard, that would fit, and the plan was that they would alternate power. Re: [IRCA] WBOB Question
I did not know about the plan to use different power levels for the test. but after 12:30 or so the test was significantly weaker. There were also a few moments, 12:13, 12:14, when some sort of call-in program discussing Egyptian Copts burst in. These were not fade-ups, but a "toggle effect" from the test sweeps to the call-in and then back out. They did . I heard quick spurts of "normal programming coming in at times. [IRCA] WBOB Question
During the course of the test there were times when WBOB clearly broke from its SRN programming to run test material, however other times when they appeared to run the tones, sweeps, etc. along with/through the SRN talk. Did others observe this ? Or was there someone else in there running SRN programming ? None of the listed SRN stations on 600 would appear likely, so I'm inclined to believe that they did mix it up in this way Russ Edmunds 15 mi NW Phila Grid FN20idAM: Modified Sony ICF2010's (2) barefoot w/whip ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com
