[IRCA] WWCS-540 Canonsburg, PA WPDX-750 Clarksburg, WV
Two station notes for south of Pittsburgh, PA. WPDX-750: after many months silent, I heard them back on with regular programming this morning. WWCS-540: Radio Disney moved from this dial spot to 1250 in Pittsburgh, and now 540 is blessedly quiet here for the first time in decades! I live in the gunsight of this baby blowtorch, which filled 540 24/7 and splattered 530/550 enough to make DX very difficult. Driving home from work tonight, I heard WGOP (Pocomoke City, MD), likely WGTH (Richlands, VA), and WFLF (Orlando), with others bubbling in the noise. And on 530, presumed CIAO (Toronto). What a nice change to have an open channel! 540 WWCS Canonsburg, PA noted with Radio Disney programming // to WDDZ-550 which is 8 seconds behind. Noted again earlier this evening on the truck radio. Same thing, audio 8 seconds ahead of the Radio Disney audio from WDDZ-550. Maybe the pattern change clock for WWCS is off? Perfectly listenable for a bit which isn't going to happen with their night power/pattern. Last night they dropped off suddenly at 9:27pm. Was busy tonight and couldn't check again until much later. Already gone by then. Can anyone give them a listen Saturday just after sunset? Suddenly dropped right off at 9:27pm. Maybe a late pattern change? 9:23-9:27pm EDT 02 Apr 2009.
