Hi Saul this is Curtis in Vacaville I am 62 miles from San Francisco and 40 
miles from Sacramento. The conditions out here in Vacaville CA can be odd alot 
of times possibly due to ground conductivity. At times during different months 
560 KSFO KEAR 610 and other SF stations can fade in and out here. I can hear 
them good in the daytime but sometimes at night the signals are fair. KNBR 680 
Usually has a good signal day and night. KCBS 740 comes in good in the day but 
at night will fade in and out at times. 810 KGO good day and night. 860 KTRB 
fades in and out also during the night here. but daytime comes in good. 1100 
KFAX good signal daytime not so great at night. Sacramento stations are the 
same as above. 1140 KHTK good day and night. KFBK 1530 good day and night. I 
have a radio west loop and a sony icf 2010. I also have a quantum loop also. 
Most of all I use my sony icf 2010 radio with a loop that I got years ago on 
e-bay the KIWA Aircore Loop which i use the most for dxing.!
  The KIWA LOOP is probably the best antenna I ever have used it is amazing. I 
also have the selectatenna and the quantum stick i use when i am traveling.

wanting clips, so that would imply IMO that he wants whatever proof a DXer has.

I was curious and looked up your QTH in Vacaville. That's near San Francisco. 
If you hear a NY graveyarder test in May I'll eat my QSL collection. What kind 
of set-up do you have?

Looking in my slightly obsolete log I see that WCSZ  went silent in June of 
2009 after playing C&W as format.Does this mean it was off until now or has it 
been active for sometime after rebooting with SS programs?
For those on this side of the Rockies and in the PNW: Heard 1110 Oak Harbor Wa 
sign off with new calls after the National Anthem: "KRPA Oak Harbour, 
Goodnight"  I missed the official shut down announcement and caught the very 
end. 
900 in Vic BC is still on with the 10KW carrier and unless there's a new 
operator waiting to restart modulating, it's a bit of a mystery as to why they 
haven't shut this thing down yet and I'm wondering how much longer I have to 
wait for a chance to do some dxing on this blocked freq.

0052 EDT. Male DJ with ID as "La Jefe" @ 0052 EDT. Into more Tex/Mex Music.

Also in Parallel with Live Webfeed for Music and ID. Feed was a little bit 
Behind Live Broadcast!!


NEW STN for both ULR and OVERALL LOGS!!

still going. Tone changed Pitch @ 0018 EDT after a slight Warble. No ID or 
other Programming heard yetHoping for an ID soon!!

Not hearing any music at all, but I have been getting steady tones since 
approx. 0008 EDT,when the test started.  Station aired a high-pitched (i.e., 
1000 Hz) tone for about 10 minutes to start with, and has been going down by 
levels since.  Still hearing a low tone her at 0033.   My first South 
Carolinian here...at least, I'm ready to count it as such, because it's looping 
in that direction and it's GOT to be them.

negative effect on band conditions, or possibly the new tower (folded tripole) 
now used by KRSN is not as "skywave friendly" ? I remember in 2006 when they

Like Bruce, I let the SDR-IQ do the DXing overnight, and in my case, it 
was a mix of CFYM, KHAT, KGYN.   I was listening to my recording as I 
typed this and was about to say there was no sign of code or sweep 
tones, but I just heard sweep tones, although rather weakly, a few 
minutes after 1200 UTC (i.e. 7:00 EST).
