Re: [IRCA] [NRC-AM] WSRP-910 and Others Off the Air
Per the latest Broadcasting Information column in the IRCA , a lot of stations this time around have gone silent. I wonder how many more will go off because of the economy? Patrick Hopefully, a bunch. I would like to see the band return to the noise level of 1958. (But I know that is long shot.) It could happen *IF* the coming depression is bad enough. Then I could hear DX from Latin America. Isn't it amazing, though, that there are plenty of applications for new stations (AM and FM) awaiting FCC action. Re: [IRCA] [NRC-AM] WSRP-910 and Others Off the Air
Bill, It is like any business. The one down the street went belly up, but the another one thinks they can make it. Radio is such a big business and the stations can be worth a fortune that trying to get a station on the air is well worth the effort as many stations do survive. Infact most do. At least so far, but if the economy gets worse, the amount of ad money will go down too. 73, Patrick Patrick Martin KGED QSL Manager ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com
