Re: [IRCA] Dead Skunk

2007-01-05 Thread Ira Elbert New, III

Live Southern Gospel tracks are also great. Groups will play for a
couple of minutes and then break into some testimony right there on stage
and get the crowd whipped into a frenzy. Then they continue the song for
several minutes more. When I worked at WIMO in Winder some years ago, I
would play three or four tracks in an hour that way and write papers for
college courses I was taking. Thank God for Southern Gospel!

but only a few carriers with audio, 1134 and 1521, 747 and 738 were in

Don't forget "In-a-Gadda-da-Vida" by Iron Butterfly. You could walk down to
the local burger joint, get some food, eat it, have a smoke, and still catch
the end of the song.

Also one of my personal favorites - Vanilla Fudge's cover of the
Supreme's "You Keep Me Hangin' On", which went around 6 minutes. And of
course the champion was probably "Stairway to Heaven" which runs over
10 IIRC.

Also one of my personal favorites - Vanilla Fudge's cover of the
Supreme's "You Keep Me Hangin' On", which went around 6 minutes. And of
course the champion was probably "Stairway to Heaven" which runs over
10 IIRC.

McArthur Park had a great purpose if you worked in radio at the time. It
gave you the opportunity to leave the studio if you had to for seven
minutes. Same with Hay Jude and the long version of Light My Fire by The
Doors.

*** You'd rather hear Peter Sellers do a dramatic reading of the lyrics
? Or worse yet, his dramatic reading of the lyrics of "A Hard Day's
Night" ?

How about Roadkill Barbeque. *Think* that one was from
Joe Hall & the Continental Drift (Canadian folk-pop
act from Peterborough ON).
