Re: [IRCA] MW CX
Thanks to all who responded to last night's CX inquiry. And thank you for the lightning site. A 1400-foot BOG went out yesterday; test-comparison D-Kaz antennas go up today. Remember the oft-quoted bit about how the perfect Beverage site would be in the desert...with a swamp on one end of the wire?Well, we stumbled upon a very rare depressed rainwater-channel with honest-to-goodness green grass over moist soil, and made that the receive site. At the front-end of the BOG we got 8 feet of copper into the ground, surrounded by a good deal of Epsom-salt solution. We were then able to tune a 15 db front/back on 580 (off the rear of the wire). That's an unusual experience for us out here in this normally-arid country where any sort of effective ground is hard to find. Now to hope for quieter CX for the BOG...while we set up the D-Kaz to blow that all away good ground stuff :-)) Cheers! What I did note Mark that the east coast was unaffected by the enhanced storm. And the southwest and west were quite dampened with the north coming in fairly well after 10pm central Sincerely, Todd Skaine Woodbury, MN Sony ICF 2010 Superradio 2 Grundig S350 M400 Toyota car radio On Sep 23, 2014 11:07 PM, Forrest Skaine todftscytj7...@gmail.com wrote: K index at 5 G1 storm Sincerely, Todd Skaine Woodbury, MN Sony ICF 2010 Superradio 2 Grundig S350 M400 Toyota car radio On Sep 23, 2014 11:05 PM, Mark Durenberger Mobile ma...@durenberger.com wrote: Is it just our luck out in the desert...or is the nighttime MW band still pretty noisy?
