John,

More likely Bridge. I am sure you are getting our lovely weather up
North too. Driving rain and wind gusts of 60 MPH. A far cry from what
our weather was 6 weeks ago during the convention. Looking at the
pictures of the beautiful blue skies that day, doesn't seem possible. I
don't remember who mentioned it, but someone was surprised we have such
beautiful weather and our population is so low. I mentioned, that they
should see the coast in the Winter. A lot different. We are right in
line with the Jet Stream from the Pacific, as we call it the
Pineapple Express. Storm after storm after storm of wind rain. This
started in on Thursday and will be rough until Tuesday. A good day to
stay in...Maybe some good daytime DX is in store
I did not get up this morning, but around 0900, I was getting JJ on
864. KSWB 840 had an open carrier, so JJ on 846 837 weakly. 594 and
774 were OK. an KK on 972 was weak. Lots of carriers though.

Patrick

Re: [IRCA] Pretty Bad: TPs on Orcas, Nov 4

2006-11-04 Thread Don Moman VE6JY

For a change it looks like inland reception was favoured this morning.
I'm listening
up at Don Moman's place NE of Edmonton this weekend, and enjoyed quite a
good TP
morning. Apart from the regular Japanese also had audio from Korea on
both 1566 and
972, and audio from China on 945, 1206, and 1593. It was interesting to
note that the
signals stayed around a lot longer that I experience at my regular
southern Alberta
QTH. I was still hearing audio on 1566 until 1515 UTC, about 40 minutes
after
sunrise. Back home things have been consistently drying up at sunrise,
which is
currently about 1415 down there.
Noted several MW TA carriers last night, but none near audio. Iceland
on 189 was the
only LW noted with audio.
