As_salaamu Alaikum brothers and sisters, Before calling things innivations (BID'AH)', we should define first, otherwise eating with a fork, or a spoon, wearing glasses, a watch and so on will be also labelled as BID'AH. If celebrating the birthday of our beloved messenger thinking that this is a religious duty and we have to do it, then since our beloved messenger has never done such a thing, then this is clearly BID'AH. Celebrating one's birthaday is totally something else... May Allah show us right as right and help us see it as right, and gie us the courage to embrace it and follow it. May Allah show us wrong as wrong and help us see it as wrong, and give us the courage to stay away from it. Nor did he teach such to his Companions. Therefore, the rightly-guided caliphs and all of his Companions did not celebrate it. They are the most knowledgeable of the people concerning his sunnah and they are the most beloved to the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alaihi-wasallam). They were also the most keen upon following whatever the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alaihi-wasallam) brought. Therefore, if one is supposed to celebrate the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alaihi-wasallam) birthday, this would have been made evident at their time. Similarly, not one of the scholars of the best of generations celebrated his birthday nor did they order it to be done. Therefore, it is known from the above that such a celebration is not from the Law that Allah sent Muhammed (sallallaahu ‘alaihi-wasallam) with. We ask Allah and all Muslims to witness that if the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alaihi-wasallam) had done so or ordered such to be done, or even if the Companions had done so, we would rush to do it and call others to do it. This is because, and all praises are due to Allah, we are the most keen in following his sunnah and respecting his commands and prohibitions. We ask Allah, for ourselves and for all our brethren Muslims, steadfastness upon the truth, avoiding everything that differs from Allah’s pure shariah. Verily, He is Generous and Noble. Half the settlers beyond the barrier are ideologically motivated and do not want to move. But about 40 percent of them are ready to go for a reasonable price. I have propagated one of them to you and if I propagated the second, then my pharynx (throat) would be cut (i.e. killed). Imam Ibn Hajr al Asqalani (rah) in his great Fath al Bari explains this hadith that the second knowledge is knowledge of future events One of the explaination of Abu Huraira (ra) in that particular hadith, was that he was referring to a disaster that was going to hapen to the believers in the year of fitna ,Ali (ra) was killed and during Yazid reign many believers were slaughtered. Al-Haafidh Ibn Hajr al-Asqalani (rah) explains the Hadeeth above, as follows: ref: Fath al-Baari, Kitaab al-Ilm.. Chapter: On Preserving Knowledge “The Ulema understood/took this type of Ilm (Knowledge), that he, Abu Hurayrah (ra), did not transmit/propagate, as a (meaning) reference to those Ahadeeth that mention/reveal the names of the Ameers (leaders) of evil, their conditions and their era/period.. And Abu Hurayrah (ra) used to point towards some of this (Knowledge) without declaration, fearing for himself - from them, such as his saying: ‘I seek refuge with Allah from the head of the sixty, and the Leadership of the Youth’ - indicating/pointing towards the Khaleefah of Yazeed Ibn Mu’awiyyah, due to it being the year sixty after Hijrah.. And Allah aza wajall answered the Du’aa of Abu Hurayrah (ra), as he passed away a year before this (occurrence).. Ibn al-Muneer (rah) said: ‘The Baatiniyyah made (used) this Hadeeth as a means to making their falsehood (seem) correct, as they believed that the Shariah has a Dhaahir (apparent meaning/knowledge) and Baatin (hidden/inner/secret meaning/knowledge), and the result of that Baatin is dissolution of the Deen’ He said: ‘Abu Hurayrah (ra) intended/meant by his saying “(then my pharynx/throat) would be cut” – meaning: that the People of Injustice would cut his neck/head off if they had heard him criticising/finding faults with their actions, And what supports this, is that - the written Ahadeeth, if they were from the Ahkaam (rulings), he would not have concealed it, because of what he, Abu Hurayrah (ra), mentioned in the 1st hadeeth (of this chapter in Saheeh al-Bukhari - see below), and (his citation of) the Ayah that condemns (curses) those that conceal knowledge.. And other(s) said: ‘It could mean matters relating to the Signs of the Hour, changes in conditions, and fierce battles at the end of time – so then the ones who were not familiar with it, would reject it’..” The Imaam mentions: If this type of knowledge would have been from the Ahkaam (rulings), then Abu Hurayrah (ra) would NOT have concealed it, due to the following Hadeeth that he also narrated - within the same Chapter: Preserving Knowledge, Kitaab al-Ilm: Abu Hurayrah (ra) narrated: “People say that I have narrated many Hadiths (The Prophet's narrations). Had it not been for two verses in the Qur'an, I would not have narrated a single Hadith, and the verses are: Lo! Those who hide the proofs and the guidance which We revealed, after We had made it clear to mankind in the Scripture: such are accursed of Allah and accursed of those who have the power to curse.Except those who repent and amend and make manifest (the truth). These it is toward whom I relent. I am the Relenting, the Merciful. Qur'an, chapter 2, Al-Baqarah, verse 159-160 And no doubt our Muhajir (emigrant) brothers used to be busy in the market with their business (bargains) and our Ansari brothers used to be busy with their property (agriculture). But I (Abu Huraira) used to stick to Allah's Apostle contented with what will fill my stomach and I used to attend that which they used not to attend and I used to memorize that which they used not to memorize.” Saheeh al-Bukhari: Vol 1, Book 3, Hadeeth 118 Additionally, Al-Imaam mentions that the Type of Ilm which Abu Hurayrah (rah) held back, was related to Fitan, Turmoil etc.. In particular, the names of the “Leaders of Evil”, their conditions and Era/Period.. This point has also been mentioned in the following Hadeeth.. Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman (ra) Narrated: “I swear by Allah, I do not know whether my companions have forgotten or have pretended to forgot. I swear by Allah that the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) did not omit a leader of a wrong belief (fitnah) -- up to the end of the world -- whose followers reach the number of three hundred and upwards but he mentioned to us his name, his father's name and the name of his tribe.” Sunan Abi Dawud: Book 35, Number 4231 During the course of his discussion, Al-Haafidh proceeds to quote Ibn Al-Muneer (rah) on how the “Baatiniyyah” (mis)used the Hadeeth of Abu Hurayrah (ra) (i.e. Two Kinds of

They share the same Prison cell and incidentally both became became friends... although the other prisoner is an Arab. Most probably Gilad will come out first due the eventual prisoners-swap which shall take place soon.. But , Gilad shall not forged his new friend and shall try to enrol his new-friend in the IDF the Israeli Army. Just get him out.. By S G Haque, The Indian Government has admitted that the cases of human rights violation against minorities have increased and Indian Muslims, the largest minority community are the worst sufferer. Several communal riots instigated by Hindu nationalists, have caused heavy damages to the Muslims. Riots and violence against them have become a common feature. The Muslims are slaughtered mercilessly in communal riots and women raped and the agencies responsible for protecting the lives and modesty of women remain a silent spectator during communal riots. Today the global fever of terrorism is badly haunting the community. The innocent people of productive ages of the community are easy target of unscrupulous and communal elements. The broad daylight killings of Muslim youths by security agencies have become a routine job today. The number of Muslims in jails increases day by day. When person like Justice Sachar talks about backwardness among Muslims and suggests doing special effort to educate Muslims, the communal elements brand the highly educated like IT and management graduates as terrorists and virtually closes the door of academic and employment opportunities for Muslim youths. Indian Muslims have shorter life spans, worse health, lower literacy rates and irregular lower-paying jobs. Today, hardly 1 % Muslims is in government services, while this figure was about 30 % before partition. These are the findings of government's own national sample survey. The socio-economic status of Muslims is worst than the Dalits, the most backward community of India. Several studies and surveys have revealed the fact that the Indian Muslims, the second largest community are lagging behind and they cannot get rid of their poverty, illiteracy and other social ills without special and proper support. Every one of the nation is aware that the persons belonging to the Scheduled caste and Scheduled tribe communities were considered as most backward and downtrodden. Nevertheless, the constitutional support helped them to improve their condition. Today they are in a better position as compared to their fore fathers. Of course, the atrocities against them have not come to a complete halt and they are yet to join the billionaires club. But it is also a fact that besides constitutional provisions for reservation in education and jobs, there are special legal enactments to check the violence and atrocities against Dalits. The Government made a provision of separate courts for anti-Dalit cases. Unfortunately, there are no such constitutional and legal measures to protect or safeguard the interest of Muslims. While, the violent attack on Muslims are common. Several committees and commissions have studied the social and economic status of Indian Muslims since independence. But their reports failed to bring any material change in their lives. Because, no government showed the courage to implement the recommendations of such committees. The Sachar committee report was tabled and debated in the parliament with much fanfare. The UPA government made very tall promises to bail out the Muslim community from their worst and desperate plight. Several announcements were made to ensure the educational needs of the community. However, their promises failed to become reality. The UPA government did not make any concrete effort. There are enough historical and documentary evidence, which show that the Indian Muslims felled prey to famous divide and rule policy of the British. They created an atmosphere of hatred and distrust between two largest communities of India by using the vested and communal elements and spreading rumors of forced conversion and demolition of temples in much planned manner, which has already been denounced by several eminent Hindu intellectuals and historians. The post 1857 era was worst for the Muslim elites. The British held Muslims responsible for the start of the freedom struggle. The aggressive and vigorously active role of Indian Muslims in the freedom struggle forced the British to teach a lesson to the community. They blatantly targeted Muslim religious leaders and intellectuals. Indian Muslim bore the brunt of British rage. They coloured the streets of Delhi with the bloods of Ulemas. They closed the doors of opportunity upon Muslims. The physical and economic insecurity marginalized the community. They introduced English as official language that led to the further marginalization of Muslims. The literacy rate of Muslims fell significantly to 20 % with in half-century span due to their anti- Muslim policies. They were deprived of all administrative and judicial jobs in the government. The discriminatory policies of the British showed the door of deprivation and backwardness to the Indian Muslims. The Muslims are facing multi pronged hurdles. It is not liberation where you say women should go naked. It is just oppression, because men want to see them naked. Just as to us the veil represents Muslim oppression, to them miniskirts and plunging necklines represent oppression. They said that men are cheating women in the West. They let us believe we’re liberated but enslave us to the male gaze. However much I insist on the right to choose what I wear, I cannot deny that the choice is often dictated by what will make my body more attractive to men. Women cannot separate their identity from their appearance and so we remain trapped in the traditional feminine world, where the rules are written by men. By choosing to wear the veil, these women were making a conscious decision to define their role in society and their relationship with men. That relationship appeared to be based more on exchange and mutual respect (a respect that was often lacking in the personal relationships I saw in the West), than the master/servant scenario I had anticipated. The Veil to them signified visual confirmation of their religious commitment, in which men and women were united, and for Zeenah and Fatima an even stronger commitment to a political ideal. So were my notions of oppression in the form of the veil disqualified? If my definition of equality was free will then I could no longer define that oppression as a symptom of Islam. The women had all exercised their right to choose. To some extent, they were freer than me - I had less control over my destiny. I could no longer point at them and say they were oppressed and I was not. my life was influenced by male approval as theirs - but the element of choice had been taken out of mine. Islamic sharia courts in Britain are now 'legally binding' 15th September 2008 Islamic sharia law courts in Britain are exploiting a little-known legal clause to make their verdicts officially binding under UK law in cases including divorce, financial disputes and even domestic violence. A new network of courts in five major cities is hearing cases where Muslims involved agree to be bound by traditional sharia law, and under the 1996 Arbitration Act the court's decisions can then be enforced by the county courts or the High Court. Officials behind the new system claim to have dealt with more than 100 cases since last summer, including six involving domestic violence which is a criminal rather than civil offence, and said they hoped to take over growing numbers of 'smaller' criminal cases in future. The revelations sparked uproar yesterday, with warnings that the fundamental principle of equal treatment for all - the bedrock of British justice - was being gravely undermined. Critics fear Britain's Islamic hard-liners will now try to make sharia law the dominant legal system in Muslim neighbourhoods, and warn that women often receive less favourable treatment at the hands of the traditional Islamic courts. The issue erupted into a major controversy earlier this year after the Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Williams claimed publicly that formal recognition of sharia law 'seemed unavoidable', and Lord Chief Justice Lord Phillips gave his backing to the use of Islamic courts to deal with family, marital and financial disputes. Sharia courts have operated unofficially for years among Britain's Muslim communities but until now their rulings could not be enforced, relying instead on parties agreeing voluntarily. The Muslim Arbitration Tribunal panels, set up by lawyer Sheikh Faiz-ul-Aqtab Siddiqi, are now operating in London, Bradford, Manchester, Birmingham and Nuneaton, with more planned for Glasgow and Edinburgh. Mr Siddiqi said: 'We realised that under the Arbitration Act we can make rulings which can be enforced by county and High Courts. 'The Act allows disputes to be resolved using alternatives like tribunals. This method is called alternative dispute resolution, which for Muslims is what the sharia courts are.' Cases handled by the courts so far include Muslim divorce and inheritance to nuisance neighbours, he said. But as well as civil disputes they have also handled six cases of domestic violence. In all six cases, he said, sharia judges ordered husbands to take anger management classes and mentoring from community elders, but issued no further punishment. All the women subsequently withdrew their complaints to the police, who halted investigations. Mr Siddiqi claimed the advantage was that marriages were saved and couples given a second chance. But critics fear Muslim women victims will be pressured into accepting a sharia court settlement, and husbands will escape with lighter punishments than in a mainstream criminal court. In one recent inheritance dispute in Nuneaton, a Muslim man's estate was spit was between three daughters and two sons with each son receiving twice as much as each daughter - in keeping with sharia law. In a mainstream court all siblings would have been treated equally. Douglas Murray, the director of the Centre for Social Cohesion, condemned the latest development as 'appalling.''I don't think arbitration that is done by sharia should ever be endorsed or enforced by the British state.' Shadow home secretary Dominic Grieve said: 'These tribunals have no place in passing binding decisions in divorce or criminal justice hearings. 'Far from handling more criminal cases. By Adnan Gill Despite what some American foreign policy hawks, like Kim Holmes (Vice President, Kathryn and Shelby Cullom Davis Institute for International Studies) suggest, Obama-Biden team was spot on when they set “Restoring Our Standing” to be one of the prime objectives of formulating the American foreign policy. Thanks to almost a decade long coercive Bush-era foreign policy; today, America is viewed as a maverick on war path. Survey after survey shows a global decline of American popularity among both friends and foes. Even an association with Bush policy cut short political fortunes of many. British Prime Minister Toney Blair and President Pervez Musharraf are among the few who were sidelined for toeing Bush policy. With the exception of few successes, like Libyan pledge to denounce terrorism and reverse its nuclear program, rest of the Bush policy is fraught with disasters. Iraqi invasion was a direct manifestation of failed Bush Doctrine. The invasion cost America hundreds of billions of dollars and thousands in human lives. Indian nuclear deal is another example of shortsighted Bush foreign policy. It envisioned a onetime Soviet and now Russian ally India to be its linchpin. Now, some pro-India American hawks are aggressively lobbying the Obama Administration for an extension of Bush policy. They argue: to check the rise of China and the common democratic values make India a natural American ally. Though in reality, India is more of a pseudo-socialist democracy; a far cry from the Jeffersonian democracy. The lobbyists go as far as, wanting to share American national security jewels, like nuclear technology and the land-based laser defense system with India. At the same time, a concerted effort is in full swing to change Obama’s Pakistan policy. They insist on de-hyphenating India from Pakistan; which will remain a pipe dream as long as India and Pakistan remain entangled over one or the other issue. Most experts believe the two will remain in a belligerent relationship till the root cause of their rivalry, the Kashmir issue, is amicably resolved. India’s huge population with equally impressive middleclass makes it an attractive trade partner. However, neither its humongous population nor its growing economy is meaningful enough to qualify it to become a strategic ally; especially at the cost of its time tested ally Pakistan or its largest trading partner China. In 2008 India imported only $17.4 billion worth of goods from the US. In contrast, China with far better human rights record and business friendly government imported $67.1 billion worth of goods from the US. In addition, American business giants like Walmart and Boeing are impatiently waiting for Obama administration to reverse the restrictive sanctions Clinton administration placed on China. Even in the 21st century, India is frequently cited for the worst religious persecution and gross human rights abuses by the human rights organizations and US State Department. In fact, Indian record is far worst than what is attributed to China. Indian conservative cum nationalist parties like BJP have been charged for aiding and abetting the religious extremists in caring out communal violence. These parties openly campaign on anti-minority and nationalist slogans. Their ‘akhand Bharat’ (larger India) rhetoric dominates their political ideology. India is one of the few notable countries that still hold border disputes with virtually all of its neighbors. India’s neighbors accuse its intelligence agency RAW for malicious interference in their internal affairs. The Indio-US nuclear deal was widely criticized even within the Bush Administration. India has a well known nuclear proliferation record, especially in vertical and onward proliferation. In a 2003 interview, the former Secretary of State Colin Powell expressed his reservations over the deal, We also have to protect certain red lines that we have with respect to proliferation. However, former Secretary Condoleezza Rice was the driving force behind the hurriedly concocted nuclear deal. It was a brainchild of Secretary Rice's counselor and longtime colleagues Philip Zelikow and (Bombay-born) Ashley Tellis. Experts like David Albright, President of Institute for Science and International Security, in a 2005 testimony before the US House Committee described Indian proliferation, India's extensive military and civil nuclear programs are often connected, sharing personnel and infrastructure. In addition, some facilities currently have both a military and civilian purpose. Indian scientist Raja Ramanna also confirmed, India diverted plutonium from the American-Canadian supplied civilian nuclear reactor (CIRUS) for its first nuclear device. Again, in an October 26, 2005, testimony before the House Committee Dr. Albright warned, This [nuclear deal] could pose serious risks to the security of the United States. Middle East expert Rowan Laxton, 47, was watching TV reports of the Israeli attack on Gaza as he used an exercise bike in a gym. Stunned staff and gym members allegedly heard him shout: 'F**king Israelis, f**king Jews'. It is alleged he also said Israeli soldiers should be 'wiped off the face of the earth'. His rant reportedly continued even after he was approached by other gym users. After a complaint was made to police, Mr Laxton was arrested for inciting religious hatred through threatening words and behaviour and bailed until late next month. The maximum penalty for inciting religious hatred is a seven-year prison term or a fine or both. Mr Laxton, who is still working normally, is head of the South Asia Group at the Foreign Office, on a salary of around £70,000. He is responsible for all the UK's diplomacy in that area and for briefing Foreign Secretary David Miliband, who is Jewish. Mr Laxton has worked extensively in the Middle East - he married a Muslim woman in 2000 - and has been deputy ambassador to Afghanistan. The case could not have come at a worse time for the Foreign Office. Next week, Britain is hosting an international summit on combating anti-Semitism, with politicians from 35 countries. Mr Laxton had gone to the London Business School's gym in Regent's Park after work on January 27. An onlooker said: 'I was in the gym around 9pm and I heard this guy shouting something about f**king Israelis. 'This bald guy was cycling away on his machine in the middle of the exercise room. When another guy approached him he shouted f**king Jews, f**king Israelis. 'The gym was pretty full and everyone looked totally shocked. ' That sort of racist language is totally unacceptable. The gym staff called security and I think the guy was asked to leave.' Laxton was alleged to have been watching TV reports of the Israeli attack on Gaza as he used an exercise bike in a gym when he began the tirade Mark Gardner, deputy director of the Community Security Trust which monitors anti-Semitism, said: 'There were an unprecedented number of anti-Semitic incidents during the Gaza conflict. 'This alleged case is particularly shocking, given the position held by the civil servant in question. 'We must not allow an overseas conflict to cause racism here in Britain and especially not among civil servants. 'The Jewish community will be rightly appalled to hear of these allegations against such a senior figure. 'We hope that the appropriate disciplinary actions will be taken forthwith, as they would be if these comments had been made against any other section of society.' A Foreign Office spokesman said: 'It is too early to comment in detail on a matter that is currently the subject of police enquiries. But we take extremely seriously any allegation of inappropriate conduct on the part of our staff and continue to follow developments closely.' When contacted by the Daily Mail, Mr Laxton denied his comments were anti-Jewish but refused to answer when asked if they were anti-Israeli. The Oxford graduate joined the diplomatic service in 1993 and rose rapidly through the ranks. He ran the British High Commission in Pakistan for three years before moving to Afghanistan in 2001. He stayed in Kabul for two years, then returned to London. He was appointed head of his section last year. Mr Laxton is believed to be separated from his wife, a banker who is working in the United Arab Emirates.
