Bismillah [IslamCity] Re: Qurans For Hospitals & Hotels - Please Help

2007-11-12 Thread ayub572004
Is better to give material on Islam rather than the translation of the
Quran. The sunnah of Dawah is to do dawah through Quran. Yes we can make
pamphlets with Quranic themes but the whole of Quran covers all the
topic needed for any individual as the Quran mentions, "to make clear on
the issues people differ" & O Messenger (Muhammad SAW)! Proclaim (the
Message) which has been sent down to you from your Lord. And if you do
not, then you have not conveyed His Message. Allah will protect you from
mankind. Verily, Alla guides not the people who disbelieve. (5:67)
The Quran is very clear that the message has to be given in the language
of the people of a place. So we find the Quran says, "and We never sent
a prophet except in the language of its people"; so we learn that we
have to give the message of Quran in the language that will make sense
to them. Dawah is not just giving people information, rather it is
making sure it reaches the heart, which the Quran calls Balagh. How do
we reach the heart of the people other then it has to be in the language
of the people. There are several popular people that have come to Islam
by their personal readings of the Quran - people like Malcolm X, Jeffery
Lang and Yusuf Islam just to name a few.
Why not distribute pamphlets to explain Islam to people, and then if
they are interested they can then get a copy of the Qur'an.
It is our duty as Muslims to communicate the Message of the Qur'an to
Non-Muslims. This I believe is achieved by delivering the Qur'an in the
language that people are able to understand. Also, there is no book or
pamphlet on the planet that can address the various intellectual
appetites of the readers other than the Quran. The Qur'an is able to
address and answer the questions of people across many walks of life
– from Politicians to teachers to scientists; to the rich person to
the poor person; to the young and the old; and the common man - everyone
can find their questions answered and at the level of their
intelligence. No pamphlet can serve this purpose. Really it is a
question of what you lead with - pamphlets or the Qur'an. The Qur'an
being the only book on the planet that has not changed, and has the
impact of bringing people to Islam from the time it was revealed, I
believe has a better chance of bringing people to tauheed than anything
else.
Why place Qur'ans in Hotel rooms? Aren't these places unclean and used
for unclean things?
There are a few advantages in doing this. First, when a person is
traveling a person is more open to new experiences. Second, we need to
make a mindset that shows, the Quran is a Holy book. This increases the
chances for people to read Quran. Third, it a free outlet from a legal
perspective; therefore why not use the Quran.

Why place Qur'ans in Hospital rooms?
When people are in a hospital, they are going through important
transformations in life. It may be due to illness or some other reason;
but at such a time of transformation people are open to very fundamental
questions in life like death, God, truth, etc. The famous former singer
Yusuf Islam, had a turning point when he was in the hospital (Again it
was being in the Hospital and reading Quran that brought about this
profound change).

Boycott Israel [IslamCity] I Hate My One Eyed Mother

I Hate My One Eyed Mother

rabbi irhamhuma kama rabbayanee sagheeran "My Lord! bestow on them
(Parents) thy Mercy even as they cherished me in childhood." 17:24
My mom only had one eye. I hated her... she was such an
embarrassment. My mom ran a small shop at a flea market. She collected
little weeds and such to sell...anything for the money that we needed,
she was such an embarrassment. There was this one day during
elementary school. I remember that it was field day, and my mom came. I
was so embarrassed. How could she do this to me? I threw her a hateful
look and ran out. The next day at school..."Your mom only has one eye?!"
and they taunted me. I wished that my mom would just disappear from
this world, so I said to my mom, "Mom, why don't you have the other
eye?! You're only going to make me a laughingstock. Why don't you just
die?" My mom did not respond. I guess I felt a little bad, but at
the same time, it felt good to think that I had said what I'd wanted
to say all this time. Maybe it was because my mom hadn't punished me,
but I didn't think that I had hurt her feelings very badly. That
night...I woke up, and went to the kitchen to get a glass of water. My
mom was crying there, so quietly, as if she was afraid that she might
wake me. I took a look at her, and then turned away. Because of the
thing I had said to her earlier, there was something pinching at me in
the corner of my heart. Even so, I hated my mother who was crying out of
her one eye. So I told myself that I would grow up and become
successful, because I hated my one-eyed mom and our desperate poverty.
Then I studied really hard. I left my mother and came to Seoul and
studied, and got accepted in the Seoul University with all the
confidence I had. Then, I got married. I bought a house of my own. Then
I had kids, too. Now I'm living happily as a successful man.I like
it here because it's a place that doesn't remind me of my mom. This
happiness was getting bigger and bigger, when someone unexpected came to
see me "What?! Who's this?!" ...It was my mother...Still with her one
eye. It felt as if the whole sky was falling apart on me. My little
girl ran away, scared of my mom's eye. And I asked her, "Who are you?
I don't know you!!!" as if he trying to make that real. I screamed at
her "How dare you come to my house and scare my daughter! GET OUT OF
HERE! NOW!!!" And to this, my mother quietly answered, "oh, I'm so
sorry. I may have gotten the wrong address," and she disappeared. Thank
good ness... she doesn't recognize me. I was quite relieved. I told
myself that I wasn't going to care, or think about this for the rest of
my life. Then a wave of relief came upon me...one day, a letter
regarding a school reunion came to my house. I lied to my wife saying
that I was going on a business trip. After the reunion, I went down to
the old shack, that I used to call a house...just out of curiosity
there, I found my mother fallen on the cold ground. But I did not shed
a single tear. She had a piece of paper in her hand it was a letter
to me.

She wrote:

My son...

I think my life has been long enough now. And... I won't visit Seoul
anymore... but would it be too much to ask if I wanted you to come visit
me once in a while? I miss you so much. And I was so glad when I heard
you were coming for the reunion. But I decided not to go to the
school For you... I'm sorry that I only have one eye, and I was an
embarrassment for you. You see, when you were very little, you got into
an accident, and lost your eye. As a mother, I couldn't stand watching
you having to grow up with only one eye... so I gave you mine...I was
so proud of my son that was seeing a whole new world for me, in my
place, with that eye. I was never upset at you for anything you did.
The
couple times that you were angry with me. I thought to myself, 'it's
because he loves me.' I miss the times when you were still young around
me.

I miss you so much. I love you. You mean the world to me

My world shattered!!!
Then I cried for the person who lived for me... My MOTHER

A WONDERFUL MOTHER.

GOD made a wonderful mother,
A mother who never grows old;
He made her smile of the sunshine,
And He molded her heart of pure gold;
In her eyes He placed bright shining stars,
In her cheeks, fair roses you see;
God made a wonderful mother,
And He gave that dear mother to me.

99 Names of Allah: AL- `ASIM (The Protector )

And (all) the Most Beautiful Names belong to Allâh, so call on Him by
them. 7:180

AL- `ASIM

The Protector

The son replied: "I will betake myself to a mountain, it will save me
from the water." Nûh (Noah) said: "This day there is no saviour from
the Decree of Allâh except him on whom He has mercy." And a wave came
in between them, so he (the son) was among the drowned. (Surah Hud,
11:43)
People, all of whom are inherently feeble, can encounter all sorts of
difficulties at any time, such as an earthquake, flood, hurricane, or
volcanic eruption. In addition, people are vulnerable to mental
distress. In the face of these unfavorable events, they must consider
the following: Regardless of their effort or strength, they can never
avoid a threat unless Allah wills this. Allah, the most Compassionate,
is the only Protector, as the Qur'an relates in the following verses:

Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Who rescues you from the darkness of the land and
the sea (dangers like storms), when you call upon Him in humility and in
secret (saying): If He (Allâh) only saves us from this (danger), we
shall truly be grateful. Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Allâh rescues you
from it and from all (other) distresses, and yet you worship others
besides Allâh." ( Surat al-An`am, 6:63-64)
People remember Allah when they are left alone, when they realize that
neither material wealth nor powerful people can help them, or when they
fall sick. Yet after these situations pass, they forget what happened to
them and become ungrateful toward Allah. Such people, who insist upon
ungratefulness despite Allah's protection, will see the truth when they
face infinite punishment in Hell. Their situation is related, as
follows:

So, as for those who believed (in the Oneness of Allâh - Islâmic
Monotheism) and did deeds of righteousness, He will give their (due)
rewards, and more out of His Bounty. But as for those who refuse His
worship and were proud, He will punish them with a painful torment . And
they will not find for themselves besides Allâh any protector or
helper. ( Surat an-Nisa', 4:173)

"…And whoever fears Allaah – He will make for him a way out
– And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And
whoever relies upon Allaah – then He is sufficient for him. Indeed
Allaah will accomplish His purpose. Allaah has already set for
everything a [decreed] extent." [At-Talaaq: 2-3]

AL- `ALEE

The Most High

It is not given to any human being that Allâh should speak to him
unless (it be) by Inspiration, or from behind a veil, or (that) He sends
a Messenger to reveal what He wills by His Leave. Verily, He is Most
High, Most Wise. ( Surat ash-Shura, 42:51)
Allah introduces Himself to us: Allah, the Creator of all the worlds and
the sole Sovereign of the universe, is the Most High and the Possessor
of the heavens, Earth, and everything in between. There is no deity but
Him. High is He, Exalted above all that they associate (with Him). He is
the Sovereign, the All-Powerful, and the Lord of the Ways of Ascent.
Allah is Self-Sufficient, above all need.
All of the beautiful names belong to Allah, for He is the Owner of
infinite beauty and infinite sublimity. A person can know Him only to
the extent that He introduces Himself, and can appreciate Him through
the verses of the Qur'an. In one verse, Allah describes this name in the
following terms:

Allâh! Lâ ilâha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped
but He), the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that
exists. Neither slumber, nor sleep overtake Him. To Him belongs whatever
is in the heavens and whatever is on earth. Who is he that can intercede
with Him except with His Permission? He knows what happens to them (His
creatures) in this world, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter
. And they will never compass anything of His Knowledge except that
which He wills. His Kursî extends over the heavens and the earth, and
He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them. And He is the Most
High, the Most Great. [This Verse 2:255 is called Ayat-ul-Kursî.] (
Surat al-Baqara, 2:255)

"…And whoever fears Allaah – He will make for him a way out
– And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And
whoever relies upon Allaah – then He is sufficient for him. Indeed
Allaah will accomplish His purpose. Allaah has already set for
everything a [decreed] extent." [At-Talaaq: 2-3]

99 Names of Allah: AL- `ALEEM (The All-Knowing)

And (all) the Most Beautiful Names belong to Allâh, so call on Him by
them. 7:180

AL- `ALEEM

The All-Knowing

Both East and West belong to Allah, so wherever you turn, the Face of
Allah is there. Allah is All-Encompassing, All-Knowing . ( Surat
al-Baqara, 2:115)

After people begin to think, they start to learn and, over time,
accumulate more and more knowledge. Some specialize in certain fields,
such as physics, philosophy, or history. All of this knowledge relates
to the verb "to know," as we understand it. However, this verb
also has a dimension that is far beyond humanity's grasp: how Allah
knows things.

Allah, being the Creator, holds the knowledge of the heavens, Earth, and
every being in between, as well as of all the laws regulating the
universe and anything that happens, regardless of time or place.
Moreover, His knowledge is boundless, for He knows the names of all
new-born babies at any moment, every leaf falling from every tree, what
will happen to each star in each galaxy, whatever happens in space at
any moment, what is hidden in every living thing's DNA, and an infinite
number of other things.

We must always keep the following fact in mind: In addition to what has
been mentioned above, Allah knows all of our thoughts and our most
secret acts. We assume that we alone are aware of our feelings,
thoughts, or distress. But this is a delusion, for Allah, Who holds
complete control over every point of the universe, knows what is in each
person's mind and everything else. Indeed, the Qur'an informs us about
Allah's infinite knowledge:

You will not attain true goodness until you give of what you love.
Whatever you give away, Allah knows it. (Surah `Al Imran, 3:92)

Do you not see that everyone in the heavens and Earth glorifies Allah,
as do the birds with their outspread wings? Each one knows its prayer
and glorification. Allah knows what they do. ( Surat an-Nur, 24:41)

And the sun runs to its resting place. That is the decree of the
Almighty, the All-Knowing. (Surah Ya Sin, 36:38)

See how they wrap themselves round, trying to conceal their feelings
from Him! No, indeed! When they wrap their garments round themselves, He
knows what they keep secret and what they make public. He knows what
their hearts contain. (Surah Hud, 11:5)

But they will never ever long for it, because of what they have done.
Allah knows the wrongdoers. ( Surat al-Baqara, 2:95)

You did not kill them; it was Allah Who killed them. You did not throw
when you threw; it was Allah Who threw: so He might test the believers
with this excellent trial from Him. Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. (
Surat al-Anfal, 8:17)

"…And whoever fears Allaah – He will make for him a way out
– And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And
whoever relies upon Allaah – then He is sufficient for him. Indeed
Allaah will accomplish His purpose. Allaah has already set for
everything a [decreed] extent." [At-Talaaq: 2-3]

99 Names of Allah: AHKAM AL-HAKIMEEN

AHKAM AL-HAKIMEEN

The Most Just Judge

Is Allah not the Most Just Judge ? ( Surat at-Tin, 95:8)

Allah passes judgment on each matter and concludes them. All events
evolve and develop upon His command and wish. Each of His judgments
contains many hidden divine purposes. However, most people do not really
understand His commands, for, given their limited intelligence, their
ability to do so is also limited. Furthermore, Allah is infinitely wise,
exalted above time and space, and the One Who created and bound humanity
to these concepts. A person can never know what will happen the next day
or even in an hour. When Allah gives a command, however, He has total
knowledge of all of its consequences, regardless of time or place.
Consequently, Allah creates everything in compliance with His plan and
for a divine purpose.

But unbelievers can never understand Allah's purposes, for they base
their worldview on certain causes and then think that everything evolves
randomly and coincidentally. Therefore, they fail to understand that
Allah controls everything. Believers, however, strive to grasp the
divine purposes in Allah's judgments and comprehend that He gives the
best judgments. In the Qur'an, Allah commands the following:

And follow the inspiration sent unto you, and be patient till Allâh
gives judgement. And He is the Best of judges. (Surah Yunus, 10:109)

And Nûh (Noah) called upon his Lord and said, "O my Lord! Verily, my
son is of my family! And certainly, Your Promise is true, and You are
the Most Just of the judges." (Surah Hud, 11:45)

"…And whoever fears Allaah – He will make for him a way out
– And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And
whoever relies upon Allaah – then He is sufficient for him. Indeed
Allaah will accomplish His purpose. Allaah has already set for
everything a [decreed] extent." [At-Talaaq: 2-3]
