re: [IslamCity] Re: DANISH ALCOHOL v. MUHAMMAD (S.A.W.): MALAYSIA DECIDES
Wa'alaikumusalam warahmatullah.Moderator, please obscure my identity. Thank you.I am not the moderator, but permit me to reply. The emails in question have been sent to many Malaysians through the actions of brother Islahonline and another named Amir Hamzah. Unfortunately, its extent cannot be gauged.Further, the government of Malaysia exhibits a strict control of the media within. The demonstration of Muslims in Malaysiain this affair was not even reported by any of the mainstream media including Bernama, the national news agency. As enbarassing as it sound - not to mention sinful - Carlsberg is not the only non-halal entity which the government of Malaysia holds a share. Through various investment agencies, gambling outlet companies and liqiour distributors contribute to the government coffers. Sometime in 2005, it was leaked that Tabung Haji - the pilgrimage management body that manages the funds of Haj aspirants - also held a stake in Carlsberg. It later withdrew its funds and apologise for what it termed as a 'mistake'.Forgive me for being a 'tell-tale; but the truth needs to be known.
