I was hoping that the recently released Cordova 6.0.0. would finally resolve 
the issue of selecting multiple files at once. Alas no. What a shame. I find it 
hard to believe the engineers on the Cordova Android team could not resolve 
this, particularly as it's a rather significant issue. Not being able to select 
more than one file at at time on a mobile device... really?!  Come on!...

Interesting. Using the embedded Crosswalk (Chromium) webview doesn't work 
either. While it isn't clear to me how, there's got to be a way for Cordova to 
get the attributes via Android. Hmmm...

It's a bug on the Android webview, not a Cordova bug. 
Right now Cordova uses a workaround to make input file partially work. 
Cordova for Android is not reading the type attribute, the input file just call 
a native java method when clicked, with no additional information about the 
attributes it has.

So, Cordova for Android can't be updated (fixed) to read the attributes on an 
input tag? I was told by the Cordova team that this is not a bug but a feature 
request. I absolutely disagree. If Cordova is hindering a native HTML5 feature 
from functioning then I its a bug (and a problem). Cordova for Android is 
already reading the type attribute for the input tag, so being able to read the 
'multiple' attribute doesn't seem to be asking much on a technical level.

Yeah, the problem is, as far as I know, we can't know the attributes of the 
input file to act accordingly, the android native part only knows that the 
input file was clicked.
If you have an idea you can share it, and pull requests are welcomed too.

BTW
This issue relates to both multiple image and multiple video, selection. This 
definitely needs to be resolved in core Cordova without requiring a plug-in. As 
multiple file selection is a native HTML5 feature, I would think supporting it 
properly in core Cordova would be a priority.

I consider this a significant issue. The inability to simultaneously select 
multiple files in Cordova (Android) is definitely a problem. In my case I'm 
only able to select a single video file on Android, despite the 'multiple' 
attribute being set in the input tag. I'm definitely interested in seeing this 
resolved.

There is only one thing about "core" cordova,  on android won't allow multiple image selection.
The input type file is handled by cordova on android, but I don't think we can 
know if the tag has the multiple param or not.

on iOS the input file tag is handled by the webview
on android it doesn't work by default, but I think we do something like the 
mentioned on the answers on this question

Oh, the input tag does work in iOS? That is interesting! I will try and look 
into this and see if there is anything I can do on Android (could be a 
permissions problem). I am going to leave this issue open, but I will also edit

I haven't looked into what kind of support the {{}} tag has in mobile 
webviews, so I can't really comment on using that. However, I can confirm that 
the camera plugin (and media capture plugin, as far as I know) does not 
currently provide an API for selecting multiple images from the gallery at 
once. You may be able to find a third party plugin that provides this 
functionality, but I haven't looked. You should comment on or vote for CB-1215 
since that thread is more active and has been around for a while. I'm going to 
close this issue as a duplicate of CB-1215, because it really only affects the 
camera plugin. I hope that helps!

I am using html page for cordova android app and select photos using below line:



 i also added imagepicker plugin, camera plugin, media capture plugin if 
necessarily into my android app.

what is solution for select multiple photos either using plugins of cordova or 
using html page.

Hey there, thanks for filing an issue! It looks like you are requesting the 
ability to select multiple images at once from the gallery. There is actually 
already a JIRA issue for that, CB-1215. Is that what you are referring to?
