Are you testing on a device or an emulator? Could you also try to run the app on the other option(device/emulator) and see if that happens? I notice that the problem raises after I remove the app from the running tasks. If you click on one and then on the other, the second causes the phone to freeze, perhaps because that notification expires. Is this what you might be experiencing? The only thing which came close to it was the stuff I mentioned in my previous comment, which is probably the way OS handles it and is out of scope of the plugin. If you are still finding this issue, the only thing I guess you can try is changing the OS version. Closing this one for now.
