Working on adding test cases, looks a bit tricky as we need to prevent the
entry to notification log to check the complete metastore operation rollback.

Repost: Can a listener be registered with multiple properties, for ex: can

hive.metastore.synchronous.event.listeners(proposed above) and
hive.metastore.event.listeners. Should this be a check from the
code to prevent duplicated entries in the notification log or this be checked
by the user ?

+1 for having TransactionalMetastoreEventListener, which also seems in
accordance within the code with the other listerners such as initlisterners ,
prelisteners , "transactionlisteners" , listeners and endfunctionlisteners.
The second approach doesn't seems right as it results in changing the existing
listeners code who want to be synchronous.
