Calcite doesn't support JSON_TABLE, that's why we cannot fully support T821 
"Basic SQL/JSON query operators", but it seems that other functions are 
supported (JSON_VALUE, JSON_QUERY, JSON_EXISTS and json predicate)

We actually have a test called "testJson". The test is muted with IGNITE-20163 
issue.
