[Bug 123808] New: support alternative build tool locations on Mac
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=123808 Bug ID: 123808 Issue Type: TASK Summary: support alternative build tool locations on Mac Product: General Version: 4.1.0-dev Hardware: All OS: Mac OSX, all Status: CONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P3 Component: code Assignee: h...@apache.org Reporter: h...@apache.org CC: issues@openoffice.apache.org On some systems it is possible to have multiple compiler/linker/build-tools and these tool chains may or may not be compatible with each other. So it is advisable that the tools from the same tool chain are used. For working with multiple build environments the xcrun command is available from Mac XCode to accomplish this. In Makefiles etc. the dynamic invocation of such a helper binary is much more trouble though than e.g. using the build tools from the same directory as the compiler, which works just as well. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. Several months ago we started to experience Calc crashes whenever someone tried to save new modifications to the file. It turned out that the cause was one cell with oddly formed hyperlink. When this cell was deleted, saving became possible again. Here are steps for reproducing the issue: 1) Start OpenOffice Calc 2) Create new blank spreadsheet (menu: File - New - Spreadsheet) 3) Open Hyperlink dialog (menu: Insert - Hyperlink) 4) Fill Path field with (omit quotes): file:///../, then click Apply and Close 5) Open Save As dialog (menu: File - Save As) 6) Save spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel 97/2000/XP (*.xls) format by selecting the format in Save as type and click Save button 7) If prompted with question This document may contain formatting or content that cannot be saved in the ... file format. Do you want to save ... anyway? click Keep Current Format button. 8) OpenOffice crashes. There is an *.ods spreadsheet with steps 1-4 applied attached to this bug report. Our OpenOffice version is 4.0.1 on Windows 7 platform. We didn't investigate this any further - for instance how this hyperlink ended up there, what other variations in link format also crash the Calc or what other versions or platforms are affected with the issue. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=123805 --- Comment #4 from juanmpd juan...@gmail.com --- Finally we have narrowed down the factor that makes this 'behaviour/bug' to appear. The https server presents a server certificate that is not valid for this domain, and is not trusted. We have changed it for a good one, and make the clients trust the new certificate, and the problem has disappeared. It is strange, though. We have been unable to reproduce it on other servers apart from the customer's. The truth is we have not reproduced the exact environment: customer server runs Jboss on Linux, while we tried to reproduce it on Jboss on Windows. Also, the error shows also in OO3.2, not only OO3.4, but in OO3.2 the error message is more explicit (it complains about the ssl negotiation); Microsoft Office opens it without problems. But, as I said, we reproduced it only with our customer linux server. When we tried to setup a https webdav server (in windows) with an untrusted server certificate, OpenOffice performed as expected in such a situation: it complained about the certificate, but asked us to continue or cancel. I'm sorry, but I can not give a way to reproduce this problem, so you could investigate. But maybe someone finds useful this information. Maybe it already is in newer versions. and shouldn't the AOO 4.1.0 dev snapshots be built against that runtime and it be packaged? If AOO was building with MSVC2010 then this would be the case. [Bug 123810] Current Buildbot snapshot rev 1547747 installing and requires MS C++ 2008, msvc90.dll but package documentation says a msvcr100.dll is needed
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=123810 --- Comment #2 from V Stuart Foote vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu --- (In reply to h...@apache.org from comment #1) I performed an /A administrative install for the first time in a while, and I first reverted the MSVC install that is run when the package is extracted. So you uninstalled msvc90.dll and its friends? Yes, but just the AOO packaged Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - x86 9.0.30729.6161. Have a number of MSVC++ runtimes still present including--I think--earlier 2008 packaging. If I were doing a full install, I would as usual not have paid much attention to the bundled MSVC runtime. But since I setup for an /A administrative install I actually RTM and noticed the discrepancy ;) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. [Bug 123781] Diffferent to MSWORD an empty Heading is shown in TOC
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=123781 Rainer Bielefeld rainerbielefeld_ooo...@bielefeldundbuss.de changed: What|Removed |Added Keywords||needhelp Latest|--- |4.0.1 Confirmation on|| Hardware|PC |All Version|4.1.0-dev |3.4.0 Summary|Diffferent to MSWORD am |Diffferent to MSWORD an |empty Heading is shown in |empty Heading is shown in |TOC |TOC OS|Linux64 |All --- Comment #3 from Rainer Bielefeld rainerbielefeld_ooo...@bielefeldundbuss.de --- Additional Info: (a) MS WORD 2010 seems to have a trick so that empty Heading will not be shown in TOC: (a1) Open document wiht MSWORD, delete all text from heading Heading 1 What is a table of contents so that only empty line stays. After Update of TOC the TOC item will have vanished (a2) Type some blanks into former Heading line After update of TOC no item for heading reappears (a3) Type a dot (or an other single character) into former heading line fater update of TOC item for heading reappears (b) The WSWORD trick might be something useful for careless users who forget to remove empty heading lines or whatever else (c) But IMHO it is nonsense not to show a heading what user has inserted intendedly, even if Heading has no text or only blanks. Currently I consider WORD behavior a bug (d) How can we fix that? For the sake of identical TOC appearance we can (d1) not show empty Headings. But what if AOO users consciously use current AOO behavior as intended style element for their texts? Old documents would change view in new AOO, not a good Idea. Additionally that might not be in accordance with ODF definidions. (d2) Changing paragraph style during import to something what normally does not appear in TOC. But what if document will return as .doc to author using MSWORD? He will find document more or less destroyed, who can know for what reason he might have had to insert that blank heading? (d3) We can add import options how to handle empty Headings. But is it that worth? Is that really an interesting problem or only relevant for 3 documents in entire universe? I think there are more important issues (e) Due to (d) I currently do not think that we need a fix here, as long as no additional good reasons for a fix have been contributed. I will close this one NOT_AN_ISSUE in February 2014 if no additional reasons will have been found for a fix (f) Already reproducible with Pre-3.4.0 (OOo 1.1.5), but because of crippled Version selector (Bug 123063) no useful info can be contributed (g) Latest confirmation for AOO 4.1.0-dev, but because of incomplete LCo selector (Bug 123063) no correct information can be contributed.
