The servers showing this issue had Jboss running on OpenJDK 1.6 for AMD 64 bits. Changing it to Sun JRE 1.5 (for i386) solved the problem. Is strange, though, that only OpenOffice raised problems... Microsoft Office 2003 onwards worked as expected, and you could download the files from within Firefox too,...
