Doing this manually is usually a bad idea, causes the registry to become out-of-sync, and can easily explain any following errors. However, files in ?:\Windows\Installer are usually (at least on Windows 7) renamed to a string of hexadecimal digits or, alternatively, to a UUID. An msi still being named 'openoffice401.msi' is unexpected. Either the behavior changed in Windows 8 or it is just the error message that substitutes openoffice401.msi (the original name) for the UUID. Anyway, this can probably only be fixed by cleaning up the Windows registry. Something that can easily destroy the whole system. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the issue. You are watching all issue changes.
