For me, this is not an issue but a problem with your configuration.

A crash can have several origins like insufficient resources or unstable
system.

You can try to:
a) reset your AOO profile
b) run Firefox in unsafe mode
c) start Windows in unsafe mode

Please report back the outcome of your testing, so this Issue may be closed or
progressed as necessary - otherwise the issue may be Resolved as Invalid in the
future.

only conclude that disqus.com has something that particularly vexes Open
Writer. I don't expect that there is any remedy from Open Office.
Could you provide more details to reproduce?
What kind of text did you copy from disqus.com?
What version of Firefox and what operating system?

--- Comment #8 from John Royall johnroya...@hotmail.com ---
The problem does not occur when I copy comments from the client website that
uses Disqus.com for managing the comments to its articles. It is when I am in
Disqus.com itself and try to copy comments. It doesn't matter if I'm signed
into Disqus.com or not. And I can go to anyone's account within Disqus.com and
the document I try to copy and past comments to will crash.

This is such an account: https://disqus.com/by/tehyawicomb/

You don't have to have an account with Disqus.com to see this young lady's
comments. I tried to copy her comments, and the document crashed.

--- Comment #7 from John Royall johnroya...@hotmail.com ---
Disqus.com is a social media network that facilitates comments on articles from
websites that use it. Disqus.com provides accounts to uses in which they can
make these comments in other websites. It also allows users to view their own
previous comments and the replies they get from other users. I was trying to
copy the comments from other users and from my own comments.

My operating system is Windows 7, and I am using Firefox 38.0 . I also
experienced the same document crash when I used Safari 5.1.7 . But if I save
the whole page as an html file and then copy the data from that html file, I
have no problem. So I think it's something that Disqus.com is doing that causes
the problem.

AOO 4.1.1 under Win7 x64 Pro and Firefox 31.7 ESR
Open with FF your URL
Select with mouse pitch perfect 1 and 2 are amazing !!
Copy with Ctrl + C
Alt + Tab to toggle with Writer
Paste with Ctrl + V
Result: no crash

I get the OpenOffice Document Recovery screen. It tells me that due to an
unexpected error, Open Office crashed, and that the recovery will be automatic.

I didn't get a screen print of what it goes to after that. So I tried it again.
This time it got past the point where it shows on the screen, but when I tried
to save it, the Recovery window came up and Open Office froze altogether.

Usually when the automatic recovery screen continues after I click OK, it
crashes again, but a different recovery screen comes up which allows me to
cancel out. Otherwise, it will just keep trying to recover and failing.

With due humility, I have found that this problem occurs when I am trying to
copy data from disqus.com but not from at least one other website. I can only
conclude that disqus.com has something that particularly vexes Open Writer. I
don't expect that there is any remedy from Open Office.

I cannot confirm this issue using an HP EliteBook with Windows 7 64 bit OS and
Firefox version 37.0.1 or Firefox version 38.0.1. I can copy and paste from
Firefox to a new or open Writer document with no crash. With Firefox open I can
open a Writer document with no crash and I can save open documents with no
crash.

I found I can save the page (even a long one) from Firefox and then disconnect
my connection to the Internet to work off-line to copy the page to a document
in Open Writer. I was able to copy a 16,341KB html file from off-line Firefox
into a 1,426KB Open Writer file. And Open Writer was able to save it.

Working with Safari while using Open Writer is actually only a little easier.
The documents still crash like they do when I'm using Firefox.
