I can't reproduce this on my laptop. I think this might be specific to your 
environment somehow.

Hi [~dongjoon], thanks for the swift follow-up. Not all the time. I tried other 
examples in the examples folder, and weirdly enough only the SparkPi example is 
spitting out an error message. I'm on a MacBook pro, 3.1 GHz Intel Core i7, 
running Spark 2.0.2 with Scala 2.11.8
