*Job Title : Unix EngineerLocation : Memphis, TNDuration : 3-6+Months

*Must be US Citizen or Green Card Holder and must be able to obtain a
Public Trust clearance. Rate : $40/hr on C2C (MAX) Job Description:*
Leads, advises, and collaborates with technical personnel on the
conceptualization, development and implementation of a broad range of
technical areas related to information systems and support.
Performs high-level system design and analysis and directs technical
strategies for accomplishing new objectives.
Plans support strategies for UNIX systems, middleware tools, GIS
infrastructure, and customer applications.
Develop and lead the implementation of technical services support solutions
Collaborate with development groups on system designs, improvements, and
implementations
Evaluate new technology solutions and develop hardware/software
recommendations
Develop and monitor standards and best practices for allocation and use of
computing resources

*Education/Skills:*
BS in Computer Science, MIS related field.
5-10 years IS experience including five years experience in the
development, testing, implementation and support of large scale computer
systems
5 years UNIX/Linux sysadmin experience supporting medium to large
development, test, and production environments
Knowledge and experience with the Linux OS, kernel, patching, and software
management.
Working knowledge of networking services such as: NFS, DNS, LDAP, NTP,
Samba, etc.
Experience scripting in bash, ksh, awk, Perl, Python, etc.
Experience developing and implementing process improvements and automated
solutions
Experience with system design, implementation, and support of
highly-available custom applications.


*Desired Skills:*
Experience with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES), Apache HTTP Server,
Apache Tomcat, Adobe ColdFusion, and Esri ArcGIS
Experience with GIS products/technologies
Experience with HA, virtualization, and cloud/elastic solutions
Experience with stress testing and performance metrics collection and
analysis

RedHat or VCP certifications are strongly preferred
Experience with TeamSite and/or Sterling OMS support

*Working knowledge of the following:*
Redhat Openstack, VMware vSphere 5+
Hands on networking experience with switches, routers, and load balancers,
as well as an understanding of TCP/IP and network architecture/routing
Windows Server 2008+
Orchestration toolsets (Cloudforms etc)
Familiar with software packaging and code deployment.
Strong user of Open Source Software (OSS)
