Sharing info aja, khabarnya ketiga kabel itu sih baik-baik aja...he..he..he...

Ketiga kabel tersebut sebenarnya sudah lama dilaunching oleh para principal 
cable, namun demandnya di Indonesia masih lebih banyak Cat. 5E s/d Cat. 6, 
bahkan keberadaan Cat 6 yang sudah hampir 10 tahun di Indonesia belum bisa 
menghilangkan pemakaian Cat. 5E. Ketiga kabel tersebut saat ini sudah 
diimplementasikan hanya oleh perusahaan-perushaan besar, Oil Company atau PMA 
yang punya basis HO di Amrik atau Europe yang biasanya mensyaratkan 
standarisasi jaringan cable di seluruh RO nya di dunia sama dengan yang telah 
diimplementasikan di HO.

Sedangkan dari sisi badan standarisasi, Cat 7/Class F hanya dikenal di badan 
ISO/IEC 11801, sedangkan di badan TIA/EIA 568  Cat 7 masih belum distadardkan 
karena penggunaan konektor GG45 atau Tera tidak dikenal di badan ini. TIA/EIA 
568 hanya mengenal konektor 8P8C atau RJ45 yang biasa digunakan pada ethernet 
10/100/1000 Mbps bahkan s/d 10 G melalui cable tembaga UTP Cat 6A atau yang 
sebelumnya.

Munculnya Cat 6E (kayaknya masih draft) kelihatannya adalah strategi principal 
cable untuk memberikan alterntive pilihan tipe cable, karena kalau dilihat dari 
spesifikasinya, UTP Cat 6E (350 Mhz) berada di antara Cat 6 (250 Mhz) dan Cat 
6A (500 Mhz). Tentunya dari sisi harga Cat. 6E pasti sedikit di atas Cat. 6 dan 
di bawah Cat. 6A.

Dear para Master di ITCenter,

Selama ini banyak disinggung tentang UTP Cable Cat 6A, 6E, bahkan Cat 7. Apakah 
type2 kabel tersebut sudah ada di pasaran di Indonesia, khususnya di Jakarta? 
Gosipnya, Cat 6E baru akan masuk sekitar akhir tahun ini, benarkah itu? Soalnya 
pasti sudah banyak yang menunggu kehadiran type2 kabel tersebut.

Mohon pencerahan dari para Master (dari distributor kabel UTP juga boleh 
ikutan, supaya lebih pasti, hehe,,,)

Gan, setahu saya Windows 7 Starter blom bisa dipakai sebagai server, harus 
upgrade dulu ke Windows 7 Home (utk di rumah) atau Win 7 Pro (utk di kantor), 
baru bisa di-setting sebagai server. Klo utk client mungkin masih bisa.

Butuhnya yg type apa, bos? Soalnya ada macem2 type, seperti Backup for MS 
Exchange, Backup for Windows Server per Server, Backup for Mac, Linux dll. 
Mungkin bisa lebih spesifik kebutuhannya, akan dipakai di sistem komputer

Umumnya, LAN dimatikan pada saat jam kerja sudah berakhir, jadi kalaupun ada 
aplikasi yang masih running, umumnya itu adalah sisa-sisa pekerjaan staff, yang 
lupa di OFF-kan terlebih dahulu sebelum pulang. Kecuali terdapat trouble di 
jaringan LAN, yg mensyaratkan harus dimatikan LAN-nya. Mungkin bisa dipakai 
sistem pelaporan bila ada staf yang lembur, jadi bisa diketahui mana yang bisa 
dimatikan, mana yg belum.

What a waste :

1. Suspend atau hibernate bisa mengurangi konsumsi daya tanpa situ perlu nengok 
nengok setiap client lagi aktif atau tidak
2. Software aplikasi yang bagus mestinya bisa auto-recovery kalo ada shutdown

Tapi ya terserah anda sih. Kalo ada pilihan antara bekerja keras dengan bekerja 
cerdas, saya pilih bekerja cerdas, tapi kalo anda pilih yg lain ya silahkan 
saja senyamannya :)
