All, Saya ingin berbagi informasi: Kabel Cat5 (dalam hal ini Cat5e), itu BISA DIPAKAI untuk 1000Mbps (1G), dengan panjang maksimum 25 meter s/d 50 meter. Inipun dengan catatan UNTUK MERK-MERK TERTENTU saja. Sudah pasti kabel Cat6-1G, BISA dipakai untuk 100Mbps Konektor RJ45 untuk Cat5 dan Cat6, itu hanya beda di letak lubang tetapi susunan kabelnya sama. Karena perbedaan tersebut, maka alat crimping-nya beda, termasuk harga-nya. Ukuran kabel Cat6 itu lebih besar dibanding kabel Cat5e karena ditengah-tengah kabel ada penambahan material plastik yang membagi 4 bagian, dimana tiap bagian terdiri dari 2 buah kabel. Sehingga kabel lebih besar dan rigrid (kaku). Dimensi (penampang) kabel-pun berbeda-beda, ada yang mempergunakan AWG 23 dan ada yang mempergunakan AWG 24 Adapun kelas-kelas kabel dan speed-nya sbb: Kabel Cat5e, pd umumnya dipergunakan s/d speed 100Mbps Kabel Cat6, pd umumnya dipergunakan s/d speed 1000Mbps (1Ghz) Kabel Cat6A, pd umumnya dipergunakan s/d speed 10.000Mbps (10GHz) Kabel Cat7, juga sama seperti Cat6A (10GHz) Untuk konektor yang beredar dipasaran jg beda-beda: Ada konektor untuk RJ45, Cat5e Ada konektor untuk RJ45, Cat6, Cat6A Ada konektor GG45 untuk kabel Cat6, Cat6A dan Cat7 Perbedaan konektor RJ45 biasa dengan GG45 itu ada penambahan 2 pin khusus pd konektor GG45, 2 buah pin ini terletak dibagian kanan dan kiri bagian bawah. - Saat ini di kntor g pake kabel cat 5 (cm pake 'e') switchnya yg Gigabyte, itu jln 1000Mbps. - Yg ke2 bisa jg pake cat 6 jln 100Mbps (di kntor g jg). - Klo mnurut g (yg lnsng terjun ke lapangan), susah bngt (bg yg blum biasa) melintirin susunan kabel2nya (cat 6) nge-crimpingnya. Syukur2 g dah cpt utk crimpingin kabel cat 6 (bkn sombong !). Mengenai alatnya bs jg pake yg cat 5, memang ada crimper khusus cat 6-nya.
