Untuk kasus Multiple Access hampir semua AP memiliki Auto Channel. Khusus untuk Bridges (Point to Point) sebaiknya menggunakan Channel yang didefinisikan. Pernah nyoba pakai Auto Channel, koneksinya tidak stabil. Apalagi sekarang yang pakai Class b/g dah banyak sekali. Kalau class a sih relatif masih sedikit. Rgds, Asri Defaliana F. Untuk WPA/WPA2 key-phrase, sebaiknya minimal 10 karakter, kombinasi huruf besar, kecil dan angka. Untuk Encryption sebaiknya pakai AES, walaupun pakai TKIP juga tidak masalah. Jika area ruangan terlalu besar, bisa menggunakan multiple Acess Point. Cukup setup SSID dan WPA/WPA2 yang sama, otomatis user bisa roaming/berpindah antar AP. Untuk IP, anda bisa setup IP secara manual di sisi client, atau pakai DHCP di Access Point atau DHCP di Server. Kalau saya, pakai DHCP di Server, agar informasinya terpusat. Untuk membuat hotspot yang diperlukan : 1. Langganan layanan Internet ke ISP. Pilih tipe koneksi, misal: ADSL, HDSPA, 3G, atau lainnya ( asal jangan koneksi Dial Up aja mas.) 2. Peralatan Wireless Access Point ( WAP ). Alat ini berfungsi sebagai sentral dari semua klien wifi yang bergabung ke jaringan. Beberapa merek produk telah tersedia, diantaranya : DLink, Linksys, 3COM, dll. 3. Antena tambahan untuk WAP. Ini opsional saja, tergantung kebutuhan. Kalau menginginkan jangkuan yang lebih luas ( diluar gedung , misalnya ). Sebenarnya tergantung berapa luas hot spot yang mau dibuat. Kalau besar bisa sekalian ditambahkan bandwidth manager, dan beberapa wifi access point, sebagai repeater. Tapi kalau hanya satu tempat yang tidak luas sekitar radius 10 meter ruangan tertutup cukup 1 access point, dan sambungkan dengan hub anda untuk memperoleh access ke internet. Untuk settingan, dengan ap jaman sekarang cukup mudah, anda hanya perlu set sid, pilih enkryp pakai wep atau wpa, set ip range yang akan dihandle oleh wifi. Jadi dech. Jadi semua kembali lagi, butuh berapa luas, berapa client. Kalau merek tergantung dengan budged yang anda punya, tapi rata rata harga AP sekitar 400 ribu ke atas.
