Mail server yang tidak bisa diakses ada beberapa sebab :
1. Portnya salah
2. Portnya terblock oleh firewall

Coba check pastikan bahwa portnya benar baik port POP3 maupun SMTPnya
Jika yakin sudah benar coba check apakah terblock oleh Firwall
ISP yang digunakan masih sama kan ? baik saat menggunakan SP2 maupun 
ketika menggunakan SP3 ?

Untuk ISP biasanya yang ditutup Port SMTP, jarang-jarang Port POP3 yang 
ditutup

Dear Mas bro ITers,


Minta share ilmu dong, Windows saya XP SP3, lalu saya menggunakan Email Client 
Open Source Zimbra. Swaktu saya pakai Windows XP2 email Zimbra saya gk ada 
masalah, namun ketika setelah di instal ulang lalu Upgrade dengan WindXP SP3 
Email Client Zimbra tidak bisa connect ke server mail. selalu bermasalah dengan 
"Failure Communication with Mail Server Provider". padahal setingan POP + SMTP 
nya sudah sesuai. Port juga sudah disesuaikan, malah saya pikir masalah port. 
ketika pake Port Default nya Error jg, tp ketika diganti dengan port2 yang di 
rekomendasikan ttp tidak bisa jg

Mohon Pencerahannya dari para Mas Bro ITers.

Saya coba 3x dengan send format yang berbeda:

1. HTML Format dengan PDF Attachment, email bisa
diterima (tanpa ada error balik) tapi PDFnya tidak
bisa dibuka (error corrupted file)

2. Plain Text format dengan PDF Attachment, email
tidak bisa diterima (dengan error 550 tadi)

3. Rich Text format dengan PDF Attachment, email bisa
diterima dan PDF bisa dibuka.

Aneh ya, apa yang membedakan tiga format diatas?

Error  550 tersebut berasal dari remote mail server, bukan dari mail server
anda. untuk investigasi, coba anda kontak admin mail server bersangkutan,
mengapa email dari anda di "denied"? Policy apa yang mengeblok?

Ada baiknya juga anda mengetes mail server anda, jangan-jangan masuk
blacklist. chek di www.dnsstuff.com

ini sepertinya nggak berhubungan dengan postfix anda. error 550 itu
error generik yang disebabkan mail yang dikirimkan oleh postfix anda
tidak memenuhi rule yang ada di smtp penerima. penyebabnya bisa
macem2, bisa karena dia menerapkan reverse lookup untuk memeriksa
apakah match antara IP dengan domain name postfix anda (itu kalau anda
belum setup IP postfix anda supaya bisa reverse DNS), bisa juga karena
IP anda dianggap masuk dalam black list, macem2, tergantung rule yang
ada di sisi SMTP / penerima mail.
