Re: [IVI] tizen-distro : memory allocation error whenlinkingcrosswalk

2015-01-29 Thread Olivier Delbeke
Hi Geoffroy,

Thank you again.

Here are my latest results :
* My own laptop : kernel boots, systemd boots, but I don't get any
graphics ; just audit/smack logs. I don't have a shell and cannot read the
log.
* VMWare : kernel boots, systemd boots but display becomes black. I guess
that weston is running but I cannot confirm as I don't have a shell. SSH
seems to be running, but none of the username/passwords I tried works
(including root/tizen). No shell, no logs, stuck.
* VTC7110 : same result as on the VMWare : boot messages look relatively
ok, but the screen becomes black. No shell (not even on Ctrl-Alt-F1).

Next step : try to replace the weston systemd target by a shell ; then, I
should be able to see some logs and to see what happens when I manually
execute weston.

(Tested with both tizen-ivi Core and Modello ; genericx86-64)

Best regards,

Hi Olivier,

We typically test our images on Baytrail-I (Intel GPU) systems such as the
Nexcom VTC-1010 (or the MinnowboardMAX) although other systems (e.g. NUCs)
are known to work. VMware works with some limitations. I’m not convinced at
this stage it’s an issue with your combination of graphics driver/stack as
we see it too on our reference hardware. I _believe_ you can still use ssh
with the following credentials: user: root, password: tizen

Hi Geoffroy,

As the image does not work on my PC, I tried on VMWare.
There, the result is much better : kernel starts, many systemd targets are
started (2 of them fails but I can't read fast enough to tell which ones),
finally, the window size changes and the screen becomes completely black. I
assume that it means that Wayland is started. I tried with and without 3D
acceleration and got the same result. If I knew the SSH username/password,
I could probably gather some more info. What is it ?

More generally, which hardware is supported ? My laptop and VMWare don't
seem to work. So what should I use ?

Hi Olivier,

Good to hear that you’re past that hurdle.

Can you confirm what hardware you’re building this for?

There was a similar issue reported on the tizen-dev mailing list earlier this
month, see: https://lists.tizen.org/pipermail/dev/2015-January/005964.html. Is
this consistent with what you are seeing?

Thanks,
Geoffroy

Dear all,

FYI, and as expected, the compilation of crosswalk succeeds when run on a
64-bit OS (an not on a 32-bit OS). Thank you.

But now, I have some trouble to start it (the Modello image).
- the kernel starts
- systemd starts
- systemd fails to start "Avahi", "the av system" and "Install Modello
applications"
- the system remains in text mode, with many error messages

I guess that the "Failed to start the av system" means that the kernel is
compiled without support for my graphics card or something like that. Right ?

Hi,

That link points at a a Native API which we don’t support in IVI. You will find
all Web APIs supported in IVI documented here:
https://developer.tizen.org/profiles/vehicle-infotainment/developing-tizen-ivi/web-api-references

You can also take a look at our Modello Multimedia player if you don’t want to
start from scratch, although I don’t believe it supports RTSP specifically. The
sources of the Modello Multimedia player are available here:
https://review.tizen.org/git/?p=profile/ivi/Modello_Multimediaplayer.git;a=summary
