Hi Shimaf,

Here is a tutorial for Java in Netbeans, though it is for Netbeans 5.0, so some
things may be a little different.
http://cs.armstrong.edu/liang/intro5e/SupplementINetBeans.pdf

Alternatively, you could use the help within Netbeans. Hope this helps.

Try closing the browser and letting the Netbeans run triangle open the

[java ee programming] Re: HELP XML FILE FOR EXCERSISE1

2009-09-07 Thread Mihai DINCA
Hi, Srilaxmi.

Just a sugestion: Open in NetBeans the file you want to execute (servlet
or JSP file). Then execute it using Shift + F6. This action normally
opens the (default) browser and displays in it the very file you
selected. The URL displayed in the browser is the one you can type
manually to open the file.

If your server is configured to turn to another TCP/IP port than 8080 or
if there is some problem in the xml file, then you will see the server
configuration in the URL displayed by your browser.

[java ee programming] Re: help me in this

2009-08-11 Thread Rafael Padron
Hello There,

To know about servers you just go Tools -- Servers
You just see at Domains Folder:

1)
For On/Off Glassfish v2.1, go to:
INSTALL_ROOT\Sun\AppServer\bin

 For The Logging:
Go to:
INSTALL_ROOT\Sun\AppServer\domains\domain1\logs
and take a look at jvm.log and server.log as well.

2)
For On/Off Glassfish v3 Prelude, go to:
INSTALL_ROOT\Programs Files\sges-v3-prelude\glassfish\bin

 For The Logging:
Go to:
INSTALL_ROOT\Programs Files\sges-v3-prelude\glassfish\domains\domain1\logs
and take a look at jvm.log and server.log as well.

I fortly recommend you please download Tomcat and Add it into NetBeans as a
third choice.

I feel fine with Glassfish v2. For Dr. Sang's Lecture this is what I
respectfully recommend since
their examples and lectures are based on it.

Finally, Take a look at:

I think you need to have a getter for your Name class in Person. So
that the JSP can access the name from Person first then get the
first/last name from the name.

like

person.getName().getLastName()

person.getName().getFirstName()

[java ee programming] Re: Help my with homework

2009-02-20 Thread R Acuna

I got that error before, look in response.jsp

h2font color=blackHello, %= username %!/font/h2

and change it to

h2font color=blackHello, ${param.username}/font/h2

that will take the error away

I implemented what you did this other way :

%
String username = request.getParameter(username);
if ( username != null  username.length()  0 ) {
%
% } %

jsp:forward page=middle.jsp
jsp:param name=myparameter value=Passion! /
/jsp:forward

then I write middle.jsp like this:

[java ee programming] Re: Help my with homework

2009-02-20 Thread R Acuna

Small correction to what I said, the jsp:forward is inside the if

  %

String username = request.getParameter(username);
if ( username != null  username.length()  0 ) {
%
jsp:forward page=middle.jsp
  jsp:param name=myparameter value=Passion! /
  /jsp:forward
% } %

It works ok.

I think you should have /middle.jsp.
And from what I've understand, the parameter should be nested in
jsp:forward

[java ee programming] Re: Help my with homework

2009-02-20 Thread Supriya Khare

I think the problem is in response.jsp, you are trying to use variable
username but , middle.jsp and response.jsp do not know what is
username.(when we forward the request the new page does not have
access to variables defined in the source page unlike include) So you
have to extract String username from request again either in middle.jsp
or response.jsp.

 I hope it works!

[java ee programming] Re: Help to connect to an OpenOffice Base database

2009-01-28 Thread Atul Suri
You need to set the path to HSQLDB jar.
in NetBeans6.5 you can use
* Right click on project -
* Click Properties
* Select Libraries on Left Pane
* Select Add Jar/Folder
* Browse to find hsqldb.jar
* Click ok
* try again
