 David:
Using JAWS 8.0 latest version, IE7, Outlook express, I am having a similar
problem, there are times the message will come up in a minute or so but
there other times it will not read. When it won't read the only option I
have found is to hit the escape key then enter on the message again.
 Looking for a better solution,

If you are running the most recent update to jaws 8 I can sort of see
 this
happening. The reason I say that is on my system the issue here is when I
 go
to reply to an email which you might guess happens around 50 times a day
 or
so every once in a while jaws takes maybe a half a minute to bring up my
edit field so I can write my message. This is boarder line irritating
because something is making it very sluggish. Now that's the only issue I
can point toward in this version of jaws at this time. So if your system
 is
at all like mine my guess is and I know this is less than an optimal idea
wait a minute and see if it comes up on it's own. I in having this
 problem
found out that it was just slow because once I tried to reply an email
 and
right then the phone rang or something so I got distracted long enough
 that
my message edit field popped up on it's own.

 sendhi Daivd,

The troubel all began on Saturday or friday I think. I'm
really getting frustrated because yeterday, any email I
entered on to read, jaws simplys topped talking
 altogether.
I think it behaved better last night, but now I'm not sure
 what to expect.
FS told me to download the newest update completely and
daw a repair. I tried that and still nothing. This time,
I got an error that set up could not follow the command
 because something was missing.

Any suggestions (eventhrowing the laptop out the window)
would be readily accepted at this time!

I've been having some major issues lately with jaws, s
I've been

 Like right now.
Since yesterday, I can Microsoft outlook to behave
right.
I sued to be able to tab over from my inbox and read my

I tried running a jfw repair, and tells me that set up

I'm seriously thinking of halling out the perkins

You can do that by hitting control+insert+W. What that does is capture the
screen image at that time allowing you to review and or copy it to your
clipboard. This is beneficial to those of us who some times do tech
 support.
It enables us to see in effect what is on your screen at any given time.

 Hi Barbara,
When you get to that point, you need to press enter on the synthesizer you
want, and it should become active.
Alternatively, you can use the following keystrokes:
Alt +L, for the language menu, then C,
for change synthesizers, then S, for Sapi.
To change back, you can do the same, useing the first letter of the
 synthesizer you want.

Lisa; try downloading the very latest version of JAWS as a demo and
 install
it, you can obviously try that to see how it works but then if you go back
to running the old version of JAWS it should have updated stuff like the
video intercept sufficiently to do the job.

  Hi Lisa,

Sounds like you have a couple of problems.
First off, support for Microsoft office 2007 starts with version 8 I
believe, so I do think your version is too old.
Secondly, these they have changed the entire layout for office 2007. It
think now they call them ribbons instead of tool bars or some such thing.
Someone else on here may be able to give you some extra tips, but I think
you'll need to upgrade your jfw to get maximum use out of your new
 programme.

  Hello everyone,
When I write letters I have always used the HJ pad, and I found it quite
easy to use. I recently purchased and installed Microsoft office student

 I
always wanted to have because I thought it would be better then the HJ
 pad.
I opened up a blank document in Word to write a letter, and I hit my alt

control tab to switch pages. I have never used Word 2003 with jaws, but a
friend told me that the menues are totally accessible with jaws. I am
running jaws 6, so I'm wondering if my version of jaws is too old for this
newest version of Microsoft Word, or has Microsoft totally changed the way
Word 2007 looks? When I rooted jaws to PC I didn't find things like file,
edit, view, tools, and format. If anyone could help figure this out i'd
really appreciate it!!! I have windows XP home adition, and I'm running
 jaws 6.
  Take care,
  Lisa ,
