2007-08-21 Thread AMTK161
Hi,

Hit alt+t to get into the tools menu. Hit A for accounts. Then tab over to
add and press enter. Hit enter on "email" or something to that effect and
you should be in good shape.

Note that you will need to have the email address and all that good info.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Increasing maximum number of characters for a filename.

2007-08-21 Thread Flor Lynch
You need to decrease the number of characters in the given filename. You
can do this by renaming it anything you like, by cursoring to the beginning
and typing. Perhaps, give the track your own abbreviated version of the
original name. do not change the suffix after the period.

Hi There,

Switch to the contacts view with control and 3 on the numbers row of the
regular keyboard.
Open the contact you wish to send and press alt A Arrow down until it says,
""forward" choose this and fill in as you would a normal email message.
Proceed with the regular resend commands.
You can return to your regular in-box with a control 1 on the numbers row.

Re: [JAWS-Users] *****SPAM***** Sending Contacts

2007-08-21 Thread Annette Carr
Create your e-mail as usual.
Then from the menu bar open the Insert menu.
Arrow down to item and press enter.
You will be placed in a list box of all of your Outlook folders. Use your
up and down arrow keys to find your contact folder.
Press TAB to move to the second list box containing your list of contacts.
Again use your up and down arrows to find the contact that you want.
press tab again to move to the 2 radial button selections.
Use your up and down arrow to select to either attach the contact, or insert
it as text in the body of the e-mail message".
I usually press enter at this point, but there might be an OK button that
you can tab to.

I am guessing that you can use the command that allows you to select
multiple items from a list that are not adjacent to one another. I can't
remember what that command is, or if it really works on this list.

HTH,
Annette

[JAWS-Users] HTML and spell check

2007-08-21 Thread Alan & Terrie Robbins
I am using Outlook 2000 and Window's XP I have my email set to generate
plain text (i.e. this message) when I compose a message to send out. When
it spell checks and I exit during spell check the cursor is always on the
place the spell check left off, most times at a misspelled word. However,
when I exit in HTML the cursor is NOT where I left off. This creates
problems in finding where the mistake or issue was, especially if the email
was long. Any suggestions?

Re: [JAWS-Users] combo box troubles

Marilyn,

Some combo boxes work okay with just the arrow keys. With others you
have to use Alt + DownArrow to open them, then DownArrow through them.

Hi John.

I use flash FXP. It's not free, but it lets you download big files without
timing out. The player can be downloaded and tried for thirty days. You'll
need to change a couple of settings to make it more friendly to JAWS, but it
works decently with JAWS even without changing those settings. If you need
help setting up JAWS to work with it, feel free to let me know. The URL is

Re: [JAWS-Users] how to set html

2007-08-21 Thread Faisal
I think it depends on weather the sender has set his message to html,
and not plain text.
What you can do is copy, and paist the URL in to your web browser.
someone correct me if this is not true, because I haven't used OE in a
long time.
on a side note, the client may block links from being activated to
protect you, and you can set those options on the message option area.
Outlook does this, and not quite sure weather OE does it as well. Just
something to keep in mind.

I would have noticed the question was referring to MS Word 2003, I replied

All I do is place my curser on any letter of the word I would like to look
up, use shift plus F7 to open the thesaurus, tap the tab key once to move to
the list of Synonyms, use up and down aero to highlight the desired word,
tab to replace button and then enter. I am then placed back in to the
document on the new word I chose to use.

Hi Mireille,

I was able to find the synonym, but when I did Alt+downarrow, it did
not give me the option of insert, copy or lookup. What ever happened
to plain old replace?

Thanks,

Try FTP explorer from www.ftpx.com
The interface works good with JAWS, although I haven't tried it in a while.

2007-08-21 Thread David Ferrin
There are a couple of free download managers on the programs page you might
try. If your connection times out after an hour it might not be the client's
fault though just so you know.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Using MS Word Thesaurus with Office 2003

2007-08-21 Thread Griffiths, Steve
Lennie,

There are a number of Word 2003 features which have been moved to the
task pane, and you might find it worthwhile taking the time to learn the
new method, but it is possible to stick with the old one if you prefer.
Microsoft have left the old dialogue there, but have reassigned the
keystroke and menu item to point to the new and - according to
Microsoft's way of thinking - improved thesaurus. All you need to do is
find the old dialogue and reassign the keystroke back to it.

To do this, open the Tools menu and choose Customize. Tab to the
Keyboard button and press it. In the list of categories, press A until
you're on All Commands. Then Tab into a list of commands. You're looking
for one called ToolsThesaurus. This is a long list but if you type the
first six letters, with no spaces, quickly enough it should bring you to
it. ToolsThesaurus is the old dialogue; if you DownArrow from it you'll
be on ToolsThesaurusRR, which is the new-style task pane version, and
it's to this second item that the Shift + F7 keystroke is assigned in
Word 2003.

To reassign it to ToolsThesaurus, put focus on that item and Tab twice
into an edit called "Press new shortcut key". Press Shift + F7 and then
Enter twice, once to complete the assignment and again to close the
dialogue box. Note that you can assign another keystroke to the feature
if you prefer, but be careful not to assign one that is already used
within Word unless you are positive you won't need it. When you press
the keystroke, Word puts some static text on the dialogue to tell you
whether it is currently in use, but you'll need to need to use the JAWS
cursor to read this information, which appears under the edit where you
pressed the keystroke.

Steve

Hi Mireille,

I was able to find the synonym, but when I did Alt+downarrow, it did
not give me the option of insert, copy or lookup. What ever happened
to plain old replace?

Thanks,

Lennie
