2007-09-08 Thread Ricque
Hi Arianna,
We may be talking about several different things here. smile
Sounds like you are getting the message to compact messages in Outlook Express.
This only occurs every 100 times you leave the program.
It is a maintanence operation that is normal for the program.
As far as collapsed messages, this is an option which keeps all of the messages
grouped by
conversation.
The idea behind it, is to keep messages sorted so they can be acted upon as a
group, instead of
individually.
Whether messages are sorted this way, is entirely up to the user.
No, you do not have to have messages collapsed,
Outside of those 2 items, if you are getting a specific message, pass it along,
and I can tell you
more about it.

[JAWS-Users] RE switching columns in word

2007-09-08 Thread First Christian Reformed Church
There is a command for this, which I don't know, so I don't have a direct
answer to your question,
but a different approach.
If you switch to Normal View, under the View menu, you avoid the
necessity of having to switch columns. The word displays your document
as if it is all one column. I think this is easier to work with.
Page Layout displays the columns on screen, which works fine for sighted
persns using a mouse, but there may be other ways to do it.
Blessings,
Tom

Hi,
You are still using Windows Live Messenger 8.1 because it will not let you

I hope this helps,

Re: [JAWS-Users] Collapsed messages

2007-09-08 Thread Ricque
Hi Arianna,
There may be a way to hide that dialogue,
but I won't know until it pops up again.
Having messages compacted automatically, is a good idea.
I leave mine set this way, so I don't have to figure it into my routine
maintenance.
This is a good option for those who store large amounts of messages in Outlook
Express.
The program actually has a size limit, and when messages are not compacted
it becomes bloated and unstable much the same as a hard drive which is close to
capacity.

there apparently used to be an option to switch off the compacting messages

Outlook Express now has to compact messages, if you don't doe it manually,

I don't know if we're talking about the same thing, but every so often I get
a message that asks if I want the computer to collapse messages in OE. this
occurs with JAWS 7.10 and 8 latest download. Can I get rid of this message
altogether? Do messages have to be collapsed?

Hi Don,
If you tab until you come to the checkbox that says don't remind me again,
then spacebar to check
it.
Okay your way out of the dialogue, and you are done.
The next time you delete a group of collapsed messages, you will not be
prompted.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Flash movies on web pages

Hi group,

I'm having issues with flash movies on web pages. First, they are always
there and I need to go into verbosity settings to turn them off. Is there
some way to turn them off and have it stay that way?

Also, sometimes I'll come across a flash movie where I have to choose
something in it, such as one of a series of options. Within the movie, these
options are not designated as buttons, so I can't treat them as if they
were. Pressing enter on them does nothing.

Thanks for any help.
Ellen

[JAWS-Users] JFW reading in foreign language

2007-09-08 Thread Claude Everett
Hmmm!! I have a web site where I was reading a PDF on line and it was
reading in French I believe. The language is set to US English so what can
I do? This happened before on my other machine and some one sent the
directions, however That machine is in the Shop getting repaired. So I don't
have those directions on this machine.
Any assistance will be appreciated.

Re: [JAWS-Users] JFW reading in foreign language

2007-09-08 Thread Chris Hallsworth
1. Open configuration manager.
2. If you want it as the default, press control shift d to open default.jcf.
Otherwise, skip to step 3.
3. Press alt s to open the set options menu, then press t to open the text
processing dialogue box.
4. Tab until you hear, detect languages check box checked. Press space to
uncheck it.
5. Press enter to close the dialogue box.
6. Press control s to save the changes.
7. Close configuration manager.
Hope that helps.
