[JAWS-Users] Jaws login page (admin.php) redirects itself! help!

2007-12-28 Thread edgar
Hello, this is my first post to the list, I'm experiencing a weird
problem with jaws, everytime I try to log in to jaws I get redirected to
the same login page, by looking at the code I see this happens when jaws
expects a response containing a ? at the beggining of the response,
but I don't know why this is not happening.

I don't know when this error started since everything was working
properly until some days ago I restarted my server and things began to
get crazy, this happened to me once about 6 months ago... but
unfurtunatly I don't remember how I solve it (it was actually something
easy...).

I've looked at the apache logs but they throw nothing useful. This is a
linux box running jaws 0.7.2 (can't really remember, but I'm sure I set
up jaws before sept when 0.7.3 was released). Cheers and hope you can
help me out!

I am afraid you have the wrong jaws here. The jaws that this list discusses is
strictly run on a Windows box and does not have anything to do with Apache.

If this is a package you got from sourceforge perhaps there are links there for
support?

Re: [JAWS-Users] Roxio record now and Jaws-9.0.

2007-12-28 Thread Aran_A

Hello,

My PC came with Roxio(the basic version), and I bought and tried for very
few days the Roxio record now-9.

I did not have any success with the software, and I got my money back after
I uninstalled the application.

I did not try the whole package, only the parts that were most important to
me, but even the Roxio that came with my PC is not very easy to use.

HTH

Best wishes,
Aran

Yesterday I decided to get Roxio record now-9. I'm slowly but surely
figuring it out. Has anyone used this program with Jaws, and if so, any
feedback will be appreciated. So far, finding what I want to do such as
copying a disc is a challenge. Is there a trick to using this program with
Jaws?

Re: [JAWS-Users] Problem with ms explorer 7

2007-12-28 Thread Chris Hallsworth
Hi, perhaps it's a link? If you can tell us what JAWS reports it as,
then we can help you further. When you browse the web with JAWS, JAWS
reformats it in a linear structure, so the page actually appears from
top to bottom. Hope that helps.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Problem with ms explorer 7

2007-12-28 Thread Flor Lynch
Using JAWS terminology (as we must do if we use JAWS to read these pages),
select the Sermons link and then activate it to go to the sermons page.
Then select the year wfrom which you'd like to pick a sermon (and they also
have links). The psite works fine; and I use Internet Explorer 7. (I can
get a sermon to play in Windows Media Player.)

[JAWS-Users] IE 7 web pages not opening

2007-12-28 Thread Chris Cooke
Hi. I just changed to IE 7 using Jaws 7 and now 8. With either
version of JAWS, I cannot open web pages from Google. I hear a click, it
says I have visited the link, but the page does not load. I can click on
links within a page I do get to, however. The only way I get to pages now
is to paste the address into a new window. I have gone into Internet
Explorer tools in hopes of finding something to check or uncheck, but to no
avail. Pop-ups are not blocked, security setting is medium, and Word is
used for HTML editor. Any ideas on what I can do to get back to normal
internet use? Thanks. I am using accessible google for my home page, by
the way.

Re: [JAWS-Users] IE 7 web pages not opening

2007-12-28 Thread Brian Lee
You might try opening the view menu, and go into the submenus for toolbars
and explorer bar to see if any third party toolbars might be active that are
blocking you from activating the links. If you find Google toolbar or yahoo
toolbar and if they are checked, you might try pressing enter on the menu
choice for those toolbars to uncheck them and then try the links. Quite
often when you hear the click sound right after pressing enter on a link, a
toolbar is preventing the link from being activated.

Take care.

Hmm. I think there was a change in the list address betweentimes -
moderator changes, and such, that'd be a few years ago perhaps. I would
have spotted this sooner, but I am no longer on the jfwlist that is being
discussed.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Problem with ms explorer 7

2007-12-28 Thread Brian Lee
Hi Linda,

The link you are looking for is labeled sermons. When on the web page use
Insert-F7 to list all the links. When in the list of links press S until
you hear sermons and press enter. On the resultant page you can list the
links again with insert-f7 and press C until you hear click here to link to
the 2006 sermons or click here to link to the 2007 page etc. Just press
C when in the links list to hear the one you want to visit and press enter.
After pressing enter on your choice you will be taken to a page where you
can list all links again with insert-F7. This page will have sermons if you
chose to go to a page with sermons. You can simply arrow down through the
list and press enter on the one you want to hear. The sermon will start
playing in Windows Media Player or whatever player you use.

Take care.

No, there is no way. Sorry. You need sight for those. They are designed

Re: [JAWS-Users] visual Verification

2007-12-28 Thread Chris Skarstad
Yep, I think ultimately what needs to happen is that sites that use
visual verifications as a means of prooving that you're a human being
need to find an alternative scheme. I know people with perfect vision
who have problems with them, so we definitely are not alone on this
one. Some sites like google and some others use a system where a set
of numbers is spoken, and something that sounds like several voices
being spoken on a tape that's playing backwards is behind it so that
it masks the sound just enough, butdoesn't keep someone from hearing
the numbers to type them in.
. I like the system because if you can get to the edit box quickly
enough you can type the code as it's read out. But no unfortunately,
JAWS might be a hell of a screenreader, but it's not good enough to
read unlabeled graphics for visual verifications.

visual verification, and that's exactly what it is, visual, need to
find an alternative system.

I, too, like the 'Google audio' concept as it is applied there. Once you
get used to the slightly distorted voice with 'East Asian accent' ... it
will sound quite intelligible.

Hi Thomas,
What you are looking for is a cd ripping application.
Windows Media Player has this capability from version 9 up, I believe.
I am not well versed in WMP, so can't tell you much more.
I use CDEX, to rip tracks from standard audio cd's.
HTH,

Try CDEX. it is a neat tool for doing just that, and more.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] standard CD tracks to MP3

I need a JAWS friendly application to convert standard CD track files to MP3s.
It seems that Windows Media Player does not offer
this option or I do not know where to find it. Thanks and let me know.

Tom
